Review: MAC Pro Sculpting Creams

Pure Sculpture (left) and Accentuate (right)
I know these have been out for some time and many people have reviewed them, but I love them and I love MAC so I wanted to give my two cents.
I had been looking for some cream bronzers and highlighters for a while, so when these came out I knew I had to buy them.  Picking a color was hard.  They have a great selection of warm shades and cool toned shades.  I decided to go with a warm color because I already have cool toned powder bronzers.  Here's a quick overview of what I think of them (so this review isn't so long winded):
  • Amazing texture, blendable and super creamy.
  • Since they are creams, the effect is very natural on the skin.
  • Long lasting and versatile
  • Great color selection
  • Can be used under or over foundation
  • Are cream to powder, they dry matte so if you have oily skin you can also use them
  • The moisture on the first picture is perspiration from traveling by mail, it goes away after the first use or you can wipe it off
Here's a picture of how they look on.  I'm not wearing any makeup apart from the sculpting creams, foundation (NARS Sheer Glow), and lipstick (in the second image).
Looking crazy.  These are fun to apply.
Blended with foundation and Sleek's Peaches & Cream on lips (review here)

Overall, I love these.  I give them an A+.  I typically blend them with a Real Techniques buffing brush or dip the Expert Face Brush into the products if I need more.
The only negative (which is totally my fault) is that Pure Sculpture is too light for me.  It'd be perfect for fair skin, but for my medium skin tone it barely shows up when I blend it.  I was afraid of picking a darker color in case I look over contoured, but I should have gone darker.  I need to pile on Pure Sculpture for it to show up once it's blended which makes me risk looking cakey.  So I'll be picking a darker color for contouring.  Accentuate is perfect for highlighting.

Hope this was helpful!  Also, if you're interested in winning an Urban Decay Vice palette enter my giveaway here.

    1. They're really good! Yes, go darker because you can blend it out. It's better than going lighter and having to pile it on. xx

    1. Thanks for reminding me! I forgot to say they are cream to powder so they dry matte. They are not oily at all. They look wet in the pictures because that's how some cream products arrive if you order them online because they perspire on the way. You can just remove the moisture with a paper towel and it won't be wet again. xx
