Review: Make Up For Ever Eyeshadows

After being curious about them for a long time, I finally tried out Make Up For Ever eyeshadows. I swatched a lot of them in-store and in general they were soft, blendable, and pigmented but there are some slight differences so I will review each shade individually (from left to right):

#162 Matte True Brown:  This is my favorite out of all! Yes, it's a brown and there are hundreds of browns out there, but for me neutrals are essential. This is the softest of the five. The color has a lot of depth, I would describe it as a rich chocolate. This has quickly become my favorite brown and I use it frequently.
#159 Matte Blue:  This color and the purple are very popular for their pigmentation.  When I first swatched this I thought: wow. It's seriously pigmented and soft.
#47 Olive Green:  I got this because I wanted to expand my green eyeshadow stash.  It looks very blah, but it's a gorgeous army/olive green. It has a matte finish, great pigmentation, and soft texture. I love to wear it with MAC's Greensmoke.
#5 Orange Coral Matte:  I bought this to use as a blush. On the Sephora website it says MUFE shadows are both blushes and eyeshadows. I showed this already because I keep it in my blush palette. This one has the driest texture of the five, but it's still blendable.
#92 Purple:  Like 159, this is really vibrant and pigmented. I'm glad because if I'm buying a colorful eyeshadow I want what I see on the pan. It has a matte finish and soft texture.
Left to right:  92, 159, 5, 162, 47
The verdict? I love them! The packaging is amazing. They are held to the compact by magnets so you can transfer them back and forth to your own palettes without fuss. Just stick a needle or pin on the back of the palette where the sticker is (right in the center).  47 and 162 are now in my neutrals palette and 5 is in my blush palette.

I had a really good experience with these eyeshadows. I feel confident that I can just pick up any MUFE eyeshadow without researching it online and it will be either good or great. I'd love to try the shimmery colors next! I just wish they had names instead of numbers!

  1. It's great that you're showing love to MUFE shadows! I have 159, 158, 92 and 4. 4 is the truest black eyeshadow I've seen so far - MAC's Carbon is nothing compared to MUFE 4 :D

  10. You picked some pretty shades. I'll have to check out #159 cause it's gorgeous. I have #92 and I love the color but it stains.

    1. Aw, I've only used it in the inner corners or smudged under the lash line so I haven't experienced staining yet. xx
