I bought these because I wanted something I could take with me and use on my lips and cheeks to get a coordinating lip/cheek look. It was important for me that they work well on the lips because you can technically use any cream blush on the lips (and I tend to do so) but some work better than others.
Formula (cheeks)
Pot Rouges are super creamy, pigmented, and they wear for a long time. I prefer cream blushes over powders because they last longer and look more natural. The drawback is that creams take more time and care to apply and blend. Pot Rouges "set" so they last all day until I take my makeup off. They do retain a little dewiness that looks super natural and pretty.
Formula (lips)
They feel thin and liquid-y on the lips, like a stain. If your lips are dry I suggest using a balm first because the thin texture will show your lip imperfections. It won't dry them out, just show what is already there. Other than that, they are comfortable to wear and the stain lasts a long time.
Pigmentation
They are very pigmented. You need the smallest amount, specially with Calypso Coral which is pretty bright in person. I just dab my stippling brush in them once and that is enough for both cheeks.
Packaging
Pale Pink on lips & cheeks (left) and Calypso Coral on lips & cheeks (right)
Overall, I give Bobbi Brown Pot Rouges an A+. If I had to name and all-time favorite makeup product it would be this!

ReplyDeleteWow, those look absolutely amazing! Really loving the Calypso Coral one in particular, may have to stop by my local counter soon!
ReplyDeleteYou should! I couldn't ask more from them: pigmented, easy to blend, and long-wearing. xxx
DeleteOh, love love love this! I like that it can double up. Calypso Coral is my favorite for sure!
ReplyDeleteA+ - that's great. Cannot wait to try these. How do they compare to drugstore cream blushes?
ReplyDeleteI can't say :( I've only tried the NYC Convertible Color Sticks which are now discontinued. I don't know of any drugstore cream blushes besides the new Revlon ones (which I want to try) and the NYX ones (which are hard for me to find). xxx
Deleteso pretty! great post :)
ReplyDeleteWow, these are both gorgeous shades and so flattering on you! Glad you're loving the formula! I think Pale Pink might be a bit too cool-toned for my skin, but Calypso Coral looks right up my alley :)
