Hello, lovely beauties! Today I'm going to review the Revlon Lip Butter in Gumdrop. As many of you know, the Lip Butters are extremely popular in the beauty world and have been reviewed many times. This is why I decided to switch it up and include a little Face of the Day. Like the other Lip Butters, Gumdrop has a balm-y texture which is really comfortable to wear and gives the lips a gorgeous shine. However, the color is a pastel lilac which is milky and has a little shimmer so it slightly accentuates lip lines. All in all, I love Gumdrop because it's an easy way to wear lavender on the lips and you can build up the intensity as much or as little as you like.
The foundation I'm wearing here is L'Oreal True Match Lumi in W4 (review). I set it with Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder. On my cheeks I'm wearing Wet'n'Wild's Pearlescent Pink blush. My eye makeup consists of Makeup Geek's Unexpected eyeshadow (review) on the lid and crease. MAC Vex eyeshadow on the inner corners and MAC Shale on the bottom lashline. On my waterline I am wearing Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in Crash. My mascara is Tarina Tarantino Fleur de Lash Faceted. And of course the Lip Butter in Gumdrop on the lips.

ReplyDeleteIt isn't. It's been out since the Lip Butters first launched. But it seems that sadly this particular shade isn't available in the UK (that's what I found out from the other comments and from looking it up online).

DeleteVery pretty :) I am a fan of the Revlon lipbutters and my favourite colour is Tutti Fruitt. I think i may need to do a few more cheeky purchases as there are a couple of colours that are still on my wishlist. Never noticed how pretty this lilac shade looks until now and it really suits you! ReplyDeleteBy the way, is your hair naturally lighter on the ends or you had "ombre" done? Either way it looks so trendy and cute on you : ) I have lighter ends naturally, sometimes I like it sometimes I wish all my hair was one even colour : /

DeleteI have a combination of a really old ombre, highlights, and a light brown that I'm trying to grow out. It's a really crazy mix, especially in the back, but I think it still looks good. Like an intentional ombre xx

oo0o00o0o i love that one! i have tried a couple of the lip butters and none of them tickled my fancy except creme brulee. they just weren't pigmented enough. gumdrop seems like it would be something i would really love. thanks for the fotd/review! i love the format you chose!

ReplyDeleteThis was in the first batch of butters I ever picked up and I hated it on me! Maybe now that it's almost spring where I am I'll pull it back out and give it another shot but it just made me look so washed out ;( Looks great on you, of course! I'm jealous!

You look gorgeous! You made that lippie easy to wear and I think a lot of people would probably be put off by such a cool-toned color but you made it work.

Your makeup is simply perfect, sweetie! Love the shade of that Revlon lip butter! Do you think it will suit any skintones, especially the yellow undertone?
ReplyDeleteI think it will suit yellow undertones. I have medium skin with warm undertones and I think it looks very pretty on me. I do have to use it with care. I don't go over my lips more than 3 times with Gumdrop because then it gets too opaque and the contrast is too stark xx

I have been so obsessed with lip butters lately. I have been wearing strawberry shortcake every day! I really want to get gumdrop, lollipop and cupcake. You definitely make gumdrop look very enticing to buy!

ReplyDeleteI haven't encountered any problems with Gumdrop's formula, I just apply it straight from the tube. Sorry I wasn't of more help! I did have that experience with the Creamsicle color xx
