Hey, lovelies! Today's Try It Out Thursday features a technique that I see quite often: the cut crease. I was familiar with it in the sense that I knew what it was supposed to look like. Yet I had never tried it on myself before. This was quite a learning experience. I found that the technique has a bit of a learning curve, but it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Still, I did struggled a little. There were originally 3 looks for this post but I trashed one of them because it was not up to standard. It also annoys me how the iPhone autocorrects colors and my skintone looks different in every picture! Enough complaining! :) On the the products I used.
Look 1, Colorful: Palladio White Eyeliner (base), Make Up For Ever #92 Eyeshadow (crease and lower lashline), MAC Aqua (lid), Bourjois Liner Pinceau (liquid liner), and Tarina Tarantino Fleur de Lash Faceted (mascara).
Look 2, Neutral: Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden (base), Tarte Eyeshadow (unknown name, lid), MAC Embark and Swiss Chocolate (crease), Make Up For Ever #159 Eyeshadow (bottom lashline), Cover Girl Blue Boom Eyeliner Pencil (waterline), L'Oreal Lineur Intense Carbon Black (liquid liner), and Tarina Tarantino Fleur de Lash Faceted (mascara).
Overall, I really like this technique. For me it's a dramatic look that I would wear during the nighttime. I think it also helps people with hooded eyes because you're essentially creating a very blunt new crease so it does make your eyes look bigger or more open. Hope you enjoyed this post. Here's a list of my past Try It Out Thursdays in case you want to check them out: Duochromes, Colorful Eyeliner, Nude Eyeliner, Colorful Eyeshadow, MAC Mixing Medium, Ombre Lips, and Red Eyeliner.

These are absolutely stunning, Coco! My favourite is definitely the first one, love your combination of brights and pastels :) I really need to branch out with my eyeshadow techniques, you're so inspirational :) x

Both of these are so stunning! I love cut creases but the purple/aqua combination isn't something I can remember myself trying, I'll have to give it a go! Great job :)

ReplyDeleteLove, love, love both! I wouldn't know which one I like the most : )
I'm totally going to attempt to recreate #1 for one of my next crazy looks hehe #2 is really beautiful, I don't go clubbing these days much, but I'd totally wear that one to the cinema haha Seriously, very nice Coco, and really inspiring too! xx
P.S. Thanks for adding my banner you're too sweet! ♥
Yay! I do hope you try it. I actually really loved purple and aqua together. The first look is my favorite too.
DeleteNo problem xx
This is such a good post. I love the first one, I wish I was half as creative as you... I see bright eyeshadow and get scared haha! I wish I could be more adventurous. You could easily be a makeup artist (unless you already are whilst you're studying?!) :D xx
ReplyDeleteLOVE my button!!!!!!!!!!! xxx
Hahaha, girl! I wish!!! I just do makeup on myself and occasionally on my friends xx
DeleteWow these both look amazing! I don't think I'm brave enough for the bright one but I'll definitely give the neutral look a go! Great post :)

This looks really gorgeous on you! I've only really created a cut crease once and it didn't look terrible but not great. A semi-fail I guess :) But both of yours look super great!
ReplyDeleteThese looks are absolutely stunning! And I love your eyeliner, I am never able to apply it perfectly - one eye is always a little mess, haha!

The first look is my favourite!
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing!
:)
I love this look. I keep seeing it around as well and always think what a great statement look it is, and I love how the possibilities for colour combos are endless. Not sure I'd be brave enough to wear it though, as while I think it would look great on a night out, I usually end up with my eyeshadow smeared and creased everywhere as it is by the end! Ha.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos.

Thank you so much :)
DeleteThat's so cool that you're trying out new things. I love doing cutcrease looks, especially if I want a dramatic look.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous looks... very runway-ish. x
ReplyDeleteThe cut crease is my favorite technique of all time. Not a huge smokey-eye gal here, but I LOVE MAH CUT CREASES! I have a small Asian crease, but who says I can't wear a cut crease? heh :) Great post and I love that you're showing love to the MUFE 92. She's my baby!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I know you do :) I agree, cut creases are for everyone, they can be adapted. 92 is such a cool purple. I like it more and more everytime I use it x
DeleteBoth looks are great. I think I prefer the more neutral one, I think it could definitely be worn in the daytime.
ReplyDeleteL'oreal Lineur Intense is the BEST liner. They don't stock it in Australia so I order online!
I've repurchased L'oreal Lineur Intense over 3 times! xx
DeleteLOVE IT!!! Amazing job!!!!
ReplyDeletewow. this is proper amazing!
ReplyDeleteAmazing job on both looks! I do think I prefer the purple one a bit more, but that could be because I'm obsessed with purple. :)
