Weekend Purchases

I rarely post hauls on my blog but I was too excited about these recent purchases. I had been looking for all of these products for ages! The L'Oreal Magic BB Cream is widely available, but the Medium shade was frequently sold out. The popular Rimmel ScandalEyes have been out for a while, but this weekend was the first time I ever saw them at my local drugstores. Finally, I had been looking for an affordable BeautyBlender type sponge for a long time. I just want to see what it's like and whether or not it will sway me away from my beloved Real Techniques Buffing Brush.

01. Rimmel ScandalEyes Eye Shadow Stick in 008 Blackmail: Like I mentioned once before, the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean is always sold out where I live. I think they simply don't restock. Anyways, I grabbed this because it seems like a comparable product. I want to use it as a base for really dark smoky eyes.

02. Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl Pencils in 005 Nude and 008 Light Blue: Since I was never able to find Nude I ended up purchasing MAC's Chromagraphic Pencil in nc15/nw20. I'm glad I own both because now I can compare the two. I also wanted Taupe but it was sold out (of course). I picked up Light Blue because it's a really unique color and I can't wait to create pastel eye looks with it.

03. Maybelline Color Whisper in A Plum Prospect: I'm really late on the Color Whisper bandwagon. I just wasn't sure I needed any more balm-like lipsticks. I adore the packaging and the color seems very pretty. However, I was horrified when I got home and removed the cap. It seems like someone swatched it at the store and then left it there. Gross! I usually check products before purchasing them but I must have been distracted. I don't understand why some drugstore brands don't seal their products!

04. L'Oreal Magic BB Cream in Medium: I bought this because the packaging is beautiful and I've always wanted to try a BB Cream. Although I've read online that this isn't really a BB Cream, more like a tinted moisturizer. If any of you have tried it please tell me if you like it.

05. Cynthia Rowley Precision Blending Sponge: I found this gem at Marshall's for only $5! That's a great deal considering the original BeautyBlender costs around $20. There were tons of colors to choose from at the store. I regret not picking up a green one as well.

Did any of you pick up any beauty items over the weekend? Have a nice week!

    1. I tried it yesterday and I liked it. It's not super long lasting on the waterline (which is strange because it was so difficult to remove the arm swatch) but it's quite nice and creamy xx

  3. That light blue eye liner looks really unique! I have that nude liner but sadly it is too dark for my skintone and it makes my waterline look vaguely orange! It will probably suit your skintone better :)

    1. I see what you mean. Compared to my MAC Chromagraphic nude pencil, the Rimmel one is more peach. It definitely seems more suitable for warm undertones xx

  10. I'd love to try a blending sponge some day, I don't know whether they'd be better than my brushes though! I love the plum lipstick too, such a gorgeous shade. xo

  11. OMG! I wanted the Rimmel Scandal Eyes liner in Nude but when picking the items at Ulta (you know how that went LOL) I removed it because it couldn't be shipped by air (I mean, really? a little pencil can't be shipped by air?!?! LOL) Anyway, hope it is as amazing as everyone else seems to think it is. Enjoy it all Coco! xx

  12. I love love LOVE the Loreal BB Cream! I haven't tried the Maybelline one but it definitely beats Revlon Photoready BB Cream out of the water. It wears well throughout the day and looks natural.

I can't wait for the Rimmel eyeliner reviews, heard fantastic things about them!

  15. Oooh, I'm so sorry about the Whisper lippie! At my drugstore they seal things up but people still unwrap them and swatch! I'd love to know how you like the blending sponge. Cause I've heard dupes are cheaper but they're not as good as the real things!

  26. That's the BEST BB cream ever!! It's really light, and covers really well. At first it may look a bit greyish but give it a minute and it's perfect.
