Wet'n'Wild Pearlescent Pink Blush ($3)
A little while ago (maybe a month or so) I read a post over at Jane's blog (Life's Entropy) where she had side-by-side swatches of the Wet'n'Wild Pearlescent Pink blush and NARS Deep Throat. They looked identical! I've always wanted Deep Throat but put off purchasing it because it costs $28 dollars. I made a mental note to purchase Pearlescent Pink next time I was at the drugstore. I ended up getting it and I'm quite happy with it. I'll keep the review short because there's not much to say about it. Pearlescent Pink is a shimmery pink blush. The effect is very pretty, the shimmers don't look offensively frosty on the face. The blush is soft and pigmented. The only downside is that it's very powdery. It kicks up a considerable amount of excess powder when I swirl my brush in it. That's the same (and only) problem I encountered with the WnW Eyeshadows. In the end, this blush does what it's supposed to and it only costs $3. For the price I can definitely overlook having to blow the excess powder off. If Wet'n'Wild expanded the range, I would definitely purchase more colors. Right now I'm not interested in any of the other blushes they have. Anyways, Pearlescent Pink is a great budget blusher.
Pros: Pretty color, soft texture, good color payoff, affordable
Cons: Powdery, flimsy packaging

Oh, this is so pretty! Awesome that this is a dupe for such an expensive product!
ReplyDeleteAnd your eye makeup is stunning! Beautiful :)
Thank you, Katie. You're always so sweet <3
DeleteOH WOW! That color is gorgeous! I'm always so pleasantly surprised with how pigmented and beautiful Wet N' Wild products are! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty colour, it looks lovely on you Coco ^^ I really need to try some WNW products! LOLxx
ReplyDeletethis is gorgeous! looks a bit glittery in the swatch but that doesn't seem to transfer at all onto your skin!

It looks subtle on the face. I was afraid initially because of the swatch xx

Not sure if you have ever commented on this - but do you fill in your eyebrows - or are they god-given? If you do, you must, must, must write a post on this. If not - I will just admire the luck of genetics and figure out how to con my way into the look.
ReplyDeleteHaha, thank you so much! I fill in my brows 90% of the time so yes, they are filled in in this post. I don't change their shape when I fill them in, I just use a brown eyeshadow (MAC's Charcoal Brown) to fill in the sparseness and gaps. I'll have to do a post on it to explain it better. xx
DeleteOh I love this blush on you Coco! x
ReplyDeleteI actually have this blush! But I had no idea it was a dupe for NARS, I've actually wanted the NARS one for a while, so maybe I'll dig out my WnW one and see if it fixes my craving. :) xx
ReplyDeleteOh wow this looks gorgeous!

DeleteI remember that post by Jane and yes, the swatches did look identical!! I love that you used her split screen thing to show the blush as well (this post just has Jane oozing out of it haha)! I'm sure she's flattered :)
ReplyDeleteAnd this looks so absolutely lovely on you... I think you just reminded me that I need this blush in my life!

Haha, I told her I would have to adopt the split screen because it's really effective. xx
DeleteSuch a pretty colour and I can't believe how similar it is to Nars Deep Throat. I so wish we could get the w&w products easily in the UK. x
ReplyDeleteive never tried wnw blushes, or anything from them for that matter!
ReplyDeletelove the comparison thing you did with blush and without!
i guess you can always depot the blush to eliminate the con haha

This looks like such a pretty colour, I'm not a fan of the packaging but for such an affordable price I shouldn't complain too much. Wish these were easy to get in the UK!

This looks beautiful on you! Pretty sure I might own this haha, I'm gonna have to pull it out and give it a go :) x
ReplyDeleteWhat a soft, pretty shade! Really brightens up your face. NARS Deep Throat is maybe my favourite blush ever, but this definitely looks like a more affordable version :)

ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty blush! I really need to get this one! It looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh mmyy... the blush is so pretty and soft! I agree that there're lots of dupes of the high-end brands and you don't need to splurge on something that actually similar. Fabulous post as always, girl! ^_^
ReplyDeleteI love dupes and this blush looks very pretty on your skin!
ReplyDeleteOh my, looks perfect on you!
