I don't review skincare as often on my blog because I think my routine is very boring. I've been using the same moisturizer for almost two years and have yet to find a favorite face mask or undereye cream. I guess I consider my skincare routine to be "in progress". Anyways, I'm excited to announce that The Beauty Milk has a new sponsor as of February: SkinCareRx.com. SkinCareRx, SkinBotanica, and Apothica are joint retailers where you can add products from any of the 3 sites and they all go into the same cart (just like drugstore and beauty dot com). SkinCareRx let me choose which products from their site that I wanted to try. I'll be reviewing my picks in today's post. I also got a NARS Blush but I'll be reviewing that separately.
VICHY Thermal Spa Water ($8.50)
After running out of my beloved Caudalie Beauty Elixir, I was wondering wether I should pick up another bottle or try something new. The Caudalie Elixir is very expensive so I thought it would be best to try a more affordable product that I would feel more comfortable repurchasing in the future. After browsing a few facial mists I decided on the VICHY Thermal Spa Water. To be quite honest, I regret this decision. I adore the Caudalie Beauty Elixir and I actually notice a difference on my skin when I use it. The VICHY Thermal Spa Water is literally water in a can. I kept thinking to myself: "Did I really pick out water in a can?" The Thermal Water does have positive reviews online and many people swear by it, but they're mainly people who say it helps calm their sensitive skin and rosacea. I don't have sensitive skin or rosacea which is why I think this product wasn't as effective on me. It does take the "powdery" look from makeup away, but other than that I don't notice a difference. I'll be sticking to Caudalie's Beauty Elixir in the future.
CAUDALIE Vinoperfect Radiance Revealing Mask ($31)
Now this product I absolutely loved! It's a thin, peeling face mask that you leave on for 10 minutes and use twice a week. I chose this because it's full of antioxidants and Caudalie is a brand that makes really nice skincare items. The tube comes with a brush which you twist into an "on" or "off" position (this prevents spilling). You can also remove the brush in order to wash it (very hygienic!) This mask is perfect for my normal skin type because it's not too heavy and it feels quite fresh. Caudalie claims this mask "provides an immediate burst of radiance into your complexion" and although it's not immediate, I would definitely describe the effect as "radiant". It doesn't make my skin lighter, it makes it look glowing (or radiant as they say) as if I'd just had a facial.
Happy Friday, lovelies! Hope you have a nice weekend. And if you have any favorite under eye creams please recommend them to me. I'm on the lookout for some.

I've heard a lot about Vichy's Thermale water but I've actually never been quite pleased with the products I've bought from Vichy lately... I don't know why...
ReplyDeleteGreat post!

I haven't tried anything else from Vichy, I'm curious about whether I'll like their other products xx
DeleteI'm a huge fan of Avene's version of the Vichy Thermal Water, it always feels so calming on the skin, especially when it's super hot outside! <3

I'll see if I can find that one so I can check it out xx
DeleteI simply must try a beauty water soon!

I've used a couple travel size Caudalié products before. They were incredible. If I could afford everything they make, I would purchase it all in a heart beat!
ReplyDeleteMe too! I'd buy a ton of their Beauty Elixirs if I could xx
DeleteThanks for the reviews Coco ^^ I'm yet to try Caudalie but I keep hearing amazing things about it and would love to see for myself. As for under eye, I love Clinique All About Eyes, I'm on the third jar so far : )
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you too! xx
I tried All About Eyes once because it's what my sister used and it was so good!! xx
DeleteI'm really excited to try the Caudalie mask. Thanks for your review. xx
ReplyDeleteThe brush seems like a really great way to do it, I really want to try the mask! xxx

This looks simply amazing
ReplyDeleteI forget what it's called exactly, but Caudalie makes a dark spot corrector that works absolute WONDERS on the skin; knowing that I love that so much makes me think I should give this mask a go... thanks so much for the review (as always!) Coco :)

I should give the spot corrector a try then xx
Deletei love a good face mask. And there's still time to enter my I ♥ Makeup giveaway!
ReplyDeleteExciting about the new sponsor! The Caudalie mask sounds fantastic- like the idea of a radiance mask that is oily skin friendly :)

I'm almost the same in terms of skincare. I tend to stick to products that I like for my skin, though I'm open to trying out a new toner and mask for now. I like that the Caudalie mask has a detachable brush - I'm a little anal about keeping my tools and hands super clean, haha.
ReplyDeleteIf you prefer a thick under-eye cream, I like Kiehl's avocado one! I don't think it does anything but moisturize, but I like it because my skin is really dry. I used Clinique's All About Eyes for a couple of years, it's on the thinner side and it helps with puffiness and a tad with dark circles. Currently I'm using Lumiere de Vie's Eye Balm and I think I will be for a good while - it' s not too thick and not too thin and it's really good for wrinkles and fine lines if you have any.
I''ve dabbled in other face creams but I'm like that, if I found something that works for me then I'm hesitant to try anything else.
DeleteThe avocado cream seems amazing because I don't get puffiness so I'm mainly looking for moisture and maybe a bit of brightening for dark circles xxxx
This product looks so good, and totally not expecting it to be a mask because of the applicator.
ReplyDeleteGood to know about the Vichy Thermal spa water, I already have a facial mist that I like by a brand called DMK so I don't think I need another one, haha.
These are both products I've fancied trying for a while, but I have to admit that I nearly picked up the Avene Thermal Spring Water the other day, but then couldn't bring myself to buy just water in a can! Ha. I can see how it would be nice and refreshing in hot weather, but really!? Water from home in a spray bottle would most likely do the same job.
ReplyDeleteI do love the sound of the mask though, but I have recently bought several other ones, so will have to hold off for now.

I know, right? I can't believe I chose water xx
DeleteGreat job getting a new sponsor ;) I am thinking of picking up some Claudalie products in the future so thanks for the heads up. Sadly I have the oiliest skin one could ever possibly imagine, so I might have to try something more heavy duty though :P Lovely post as usual!
ReplyDeleteoooh the mask sounds really lovely! I'm a skincare junkie atm ha x
ReplyDeleteoh i love vinoperfect mask.... and beauty elixir....the vichy one is just water to hydrate you though....

I have never tried the Caudalie Elixir but I really want to! I think MAC's Fix + is literally just water in a bottle. Your skin looks so flawless in these pictures :)) xx

Thank you, hun! I've always thought that of Fix+ but a lot of people seem to love it xx
