FOTD: Sunday and BB Cream

blogger fotd mac the beauty milk
Hello, lovelies! I hope you've had a very good week. I'm still traveling so I'm sorry if I haven't gotten back to any emails you may have sent me. I also wanted to wish you all a  Happy Easter. Today's post consists of my quick and natural Sunday face. I've been wanting to try out BB Creams for a while. Luckily, I have a bunch of BB Cream sample s that I hope to get through during the next month. Sadly, I don't know the name of the one I used in this picture. I got the sample from the Korean store The Face Shop but I threw away the packet right away because the color really didn't match me. It made my face look pink! I have strong yellow undertones so imagine how strange it looked compared to my neck. I was too lazy to take it off so I covered it up with my NARS Sheer Glow foundation in Punjab! Let me know if you know of any good BB Creams for NC30 skintones :)

My Makeup
Base: BB Cream from The Face Shop and NARS Sheer Glow in Punjab
Blush: MAC Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul
Bronzer: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer
Powder: MAC Studio Fix  Powder in C4
Concealer: MAC Mineralize Concealer in NC30
Brows: MAC Charcoal Brown Eyeshadow
Eye Primer: Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Eyeshadow: MAC Shale (lid) and Vex (inner corner)
Mascara: Tarina Tarantino Fleur de Lash Faceted
Lip  Balm: L'Occitane Pure Shea Butter

  2. i'm around NC30! a lot of korean BB creams work well on me, i particularly like The Skin Food's Aloe BB Cream, you should try shade 2. I also like Skin79's Super BB VIP Gold Collection, better texture. For coverage and all day wear, try The Face Shop's Power Perfection in Natural Beige! Has SPF, great coverage, lasts all day. Good luck ;)

PS your eye makeup look so pretty <3

    1. Ahh thank you SO much for suggesting products and including the shade you use!! :) I was just at The Face Shop a few days ago :( I wish I had seen this sooner. I could have picked up Power Perfection xx

  3. You look so relaxed and well-rested! Shale looks really good on you, so I may just add that to my ever-growing wishlist! Your lashes also look fabulously thick, so I'll add that mascara to my list as well ;)

Not huge on BB Creams at the moment - the oil-controlling one that was recommended to me at a Korean cosmetics cream did a fab job with coverage, but it was way too pale for me! I'm about an NC 25 to NC 30, so I was really surprised to see that the BB cream didn't match me - on a spectrum of skintones, I really am not the darkest skinned Asian girl out there, yet these BB creams are meant to fit most, if not all?! I'm really skeptical of that one-sized fits all idea these days :S

    1. I'm also sometimes very confused by the shades! I was at The Face Shop recently swatching a bunch of BB creams and they were so dark! Darker than my skintones and I thought Asians were generally paler than me xx

  7. Try a sample of the Dior Hydra Life BB Cream, It comes in one shade but it suits me wonderfully and it is my go to! must ask for a sample. Also, Dior came out with more BB Cream shades from their Nude range and I've researched tons and read only great thinks about them. I use my Dior BB cream a looooot more than foundations and I have noticed it is very kind to my skin!

    1. It sounds amazing! I hear you rave about it a lot :) I was hesitant because it came in only one shade but I think it would suit me if it suits you. I've made a note to try it out next time I'm at Sephora! Thank you <3

  8. Ah, and I have never been color matched at MAC, but I'm pretty sure I'm around an NC-35

  15. Looking adorable as always Coco ^^ Wish I could help you with the BB cream but I'm really pale so most Asian BB's suit me quite well. The Dr Jart Black Label BB cream is the darkest one I know of but I haven't swatched it myself so I don't really know : / Hope you're having a fantastic time <3 xx

  17. Woah, Shale is so pretty! I love how it looks on you.

I like Too Faced's BB cream - I have no idea about undertones, but Asians are yellow (I mean that in the most non-racist way as possible, promise!) and I'm Chinese and the shade Vanilla Glow goes well with my skin tone?

    1. I know what you mean :) That's why I thought it was so strange that it was pink! I would have thought all BB creams would be yellow.

  21. Your skin looks flawless!

I'm not a big fan of BB creams although I' quite like the new CC creams that are out. I love the one by L'oreal for Fatigued skin. I'm between an NC37 to NC40, but it adapts to most skin tones so would be worth a swatch in stores.

  22. So lovely! I like the simplicity of the smokey eye using just those two eyeshadows, really beautiful. I had tried the same Face Shop BB Cream and although the colour was too dark for me, it had such a nice texture. Maybe you could have tried mixing it with something else, but then that defeats the purpose of trying out a sample!

  24. I've search a long time for a good BB creame and you know what is the best one in the end - garnier! I tried L'Oreal, Clinique, Givency, etc etc and this one suits me better (althugh I ma fair type, so lighter skin than yours) ... :)

I just bumped into your blog and after scrolling through your posts, I must say I really like it :) How about we follow each other? :)
