When I reviewed the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Pencil in Blackmail, I mentioned that the Milani Shadow Eyez were my favorite eyeshadow sticks. The best thing about them is that they're from the drugstore, which means affordable and accessible. I'll be reviewing two shades today: Champagne Toast and Brown Deluxe. I don't think these are good for the price, I think they're great period. Eyeshadow pencils tend to either be sheer or crease easily, so I had low expectations for these but I am thoroughly impressed! I absolutely recommend them.
Champagne Toast is a pink/beige color that looks pearlescent on the eyes. It brings a lot of lightness to my eyes and is very daytime appropriate (even though it has a lot of sheen). Brown Deluxe is a beautiful bronzed brown with gold shimmer.
The Milani Shadow Eyez are creamy and easy to blend. The best thing about them is that they set and don't budge or crease. Since they don't crease, you can build them up and wear them alone. Shadow pencils usually crease and are best used as eyeshadow bases (example: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils) but I always wear these alone because they're opaque and long-lasting.
These claim to be waterproof. Now, I never believe makeup companies' claims, but these really are water resistant! A swatch of these can stay on my arm all day even after rubbing it with soap and water. They also extend the longevity of any eyeshadow you but over them.
These are a bargain! Especially when there are BOGO deals. They work amazingly on their on and also serve as great shadow bases. They boost the color of eyeshadows and improve longevity. They're the best wearing eyeshadow pencils I've tried so far. I wish they would expand their color selection because these are great.
