My Travel Beauty Bags

Hello, lovelies! Today I'll be sharing with you what I've packed in my makeup and skincare travel bags. It's a bit ironic because technically my makeup is always in a travel bag. I don't have a makeup storage setup: no drawers, no Muji containers, no acrylic makeup holders. Nothing! Except a tiny lipstick holder that is overflowing. I simply haven't gotten around to designating a space for me to do my makeup. Probably because I move so often. Anyways, today I'll be going on vacation for spring break (or in my case "semana santa") so I tried to pack as lightly as I could.
Skincare
I kept it simple: moisturizers and facewash. For my facial moisturizers I packed a travel-size of the Clinique Moisture Surge Gel (for daytime) and the Clinique Turnaround Overnight Radiance moisturizer (for nighttime). For my undereyes I included a convenient free sample of the Chanel Sublimage Eye Cream. I also packed my favorite roll-on undereye depuffer (Hard Candy's Eye'm Tired). To wash my face I picked St. Ives Travel-Size Green Tea Scrub and a free sample of NARSskin Cream Cleanser. Plus, some free fragrance samples. Yay for using up free samples!
Makeup
I was quite tempted to take a bunch of blushes, a different one for each day. I restrained myself and picked three: Illamasqua Cream Blush in Rude, theBalm Down Boy, and NARS Douceur. For my foundation I chose NARS Sheer Glow in Punjab (which photographs beautifully) and MAC Pro Longwear in NC30 which lasts all day. The bottles are glass which are heavy and can break but they have pumps with locks so they'll never spill. For powder: MAC Studio Fix in C4 and Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder. Concealer: Bourjois Healthy Mix (not shown). Bronzer: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. Mascara: Tarina Tarantino Fleur de Lash Faceted. Eyeliner: Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liner in Black Ink. Primers: Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation Primer and Too Faced Shadow Insurance (not shown). Eyeshadow palettes: I picked the Urban Decay Naked Palette and my MAC Pro Palette which have the most rounded selection of colors in my collection. Lipsticks and Lip Balms: I picked a lot! This was as much as I could narrow it down (left to right). Cover Girl Divine, MAC Velvet Teddy, MAC Angel, Bobbi Brown Pink Peony, Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment, Revlon Sugar Plum Lip Butter, Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch, NARS Dragon Girl Lip Pencil, L'Occitane 100% Shea Butter.

Nails
The practical choice would have been a neutral nail polish so chipping wouldn't show, but I couldn't resist packing one of my favorite nail polishes: Illamasqua Creator. It wears a really long time without chipping so it's actually quite travel-friendly.

It seems that whenever I travel I always take MAC Pro Longwear with me because it doesn't budge or transfer throughout the day. Do you have any go-to travel products?
Also, I finally got an actual camera! No more phone pics :) I haven't been able to play around with it too much because this week has been really hectic. I'm very excited about it because this means I'll finally be able to do more makeup looks in the upcoming months.

  3. I really like to travel and when it comes to making a travel beauty bag: I love it!! I'm really curious about the Maybelline Baby Lips - we don't have them over here, so I'm definitely going to bring some when I go the US although I've also heard negative reviews about them... I think they look cute! You've made amazing photos by the way, so bright and clear :)

    Great post!

    1. I like them because they're ultra buttery so they're easy and comfortable to apply on the go. Plus they're sheer so no mirror is needed. The con I guess is that they keep your lips from getting dry but they don't really hydrate the lips like a balm xx

  4. OMG where to start commenting?!?! Ok, first, how cute is that bag with the kittie on it? Too "kawaii" ♥ I don't even know if it is any good but I want that St Ives Green Tea scrub, I'm a huge fan of the brand and the regular apricot one is an all time favourite of mine. The Illamasqua varnish looks so beautiful, adding to wishlist... Down Boy, oh wow, what a lovely colour, I have Cabana Boy on my cheeks today : ) I really don't need any more blushes but I want all The Balm has... how long till the next Black Friday ? LOL I have Clinique, love their products to pieces, just two days ago busted open the All About Eyes Rich and I'm already smitten, if only it wasn't so damn expensive, I get it all when I travel at the duty free : / You know I'm not much of a lipstick girl, but the Covergirl packaging is so engaging, and yes, I'd love to jump on the Revlon lip butters bandwagon haha
Feliz Semana Santa sweetie! ^^ *hugs xx

    1. I thought it was super cute as well! I got it at Disney's Japan in Epcot. I think you'd really love the Green Tea Scrub. I use the Apricot one and I like it a lot. The Green Tea scrub is gentler so I like it even better. Clinique has amazing skincare. Luckily these were gifts with purchase as I normally don't get Clinique because it's so pricey
      Thank you, Lau :D xx

I really need to get myself a MAC Pro Palette though.. maybe when I go check out the Pro Store in SFO or NYC this summer, I'll get a chance to snap up the palettes :)

You have packed some gorgeous makeup, and I am absolutely loving the look of the Illamasqua Cream Blush in Rude! It looks so gorgeous. 12. I am so bad at packing, especially when it comes to makeup! Ughh when I go to America in July I am going to have to limit it so badly, especially as I'll be buying most of it anyway. But I'm dreading to have to pick a couple of lipstick & blushes! I like to have at least one of every shade "just in case".

  19. Awesome! Can't wait for more makeup looks! Because of your skintone and brown eyes, I am much more likely to consider the makeup looks you try as a starting off point for my own. I am a total fail at eye makeup.

  25. Ooooh, congrats on the camera! I have to have proper storage for my makeup, it feels weird to have things in bags (or in my previous case, scattered on my table). I bought Velvet Teddy recently, can't wait to try it out ;)

    1. Yeah, I'm actually very bothered by having no makeup storage. Things get scratched easily if they're always on bags xx

  26. Every time I get a new beauty bag, I always think "THIS -- this is the beauty bag that will change my life! I'm going to be so organized!" but it usually ends up messy within the week. *sigh* I did recently purchase the Laura Mercier Portfolio for Home and Away though -- I'll be reviewing it soon!

  30. Packing makeup for travel is so hard! Last time I went away I didn't have much room so I could only bring a few things and even though I did use all of them, I did wish I had bought a little bit more so I could have had a bit more choice!
