Products I Dislike and FOTD

Hi, lovelies! I was originally going to review two of these products individually but I found that they didn't actually work for me. I love making recommendations on my blog, but I don't enjoy writing negative reviews as much. I decided to include them both in one post instead. As always, these are just my opinions. What doesn't work for me may work for you (and vice versa). The two products I didn't like this past month were:
Wet'n'Wild Fergie Creme Liner in Cocoa Riche ($4.99)
I hadn't had a bad experience with Wet'n'Wild until now. I bought this eyeliner with high hopes because their original Black Gel Liner gets raved about often. First of all, I don't love the color. I was hoping for a warm toned brown. Instead it comes off very grey and cool toned which looks like faded black liner on the eyes. That's just a personal preference though. The deal breaker for me is that the formula is hard to work with. It's too wet. Whenever you try to go over a line, the existing line slides and looks patchy. I'd rather pay a bit more for a L'Oreal or Maybelline gel/cream liner (and those are actually really good!)
Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush in Pinched ($12.99)
I actually bought this months ago and have been trying to make it work since. After 4 unsuccessful attempts, I gave up and decided I just don't like it. It's nothing like any cream blush I've used before (in a bad way!) The formula is slippery and doesn't adhere to the skin well. Whenever I try to blend it, it goes a bit patchy in some places because it slides around too much. Plus, I think the finish is too dewy. It never sets and I feel it makes me look greasy. It sits on the skin and doesn't look natural. It's ironic because it's everything a cream blush shouldn't be. It wears off easily and doesn't look more natural than a powder. It's such a shame because the color is beautiful. For the price I much prefer the formula of the NYX Cream Blushes (review) and those are cheaper!

The rest of my makeup (products I do like): Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer, Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer in 53, Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder, Milani Shadow Eyez Pencil in Champagne Toast (review), Wet'n'Wild Rose Champagne Glow Shimmer Palette (highlighter), Collection 2000 Super Size Fat Lash Mascara, and Revlon Prim Rose Lipstick.

  6. You're so gorgeous Coco! I love your FOTD posts. That's such a shame about those products. The blushers were so hyped up on YouTube last summer and I'm sort of glad I didn't get them! NYX cream blushes ARE amazing! Wish I could easily get my hands on more cause then I'd be set. & btw, that highlighter looks stunning on your cheeks! xx

  10. Too bad the blush is not good, looks so lovely on you : / I hate doing bad reviews too, but those are the ones that have saved me a lot of $$$ so they do come in handy though aren't fun to write about. Wow, the liner looks almost black, I had to look at the photos twice to see it is actually brown. I haven't used WnW in ages, would love to try their 3 colour palettes and the bigger ones too (insert Comfort Zone here LOL), those look amazing!
Thanks for the review Coco! xx

  11. You lok absolutely gorgeous Coco!! And from what I've heard, the whole Wet n Wild Fergie collection was pretty much a bust so I'm not surprised that you didn't get along with the liner :/

  22. What a pretty look! The LM TM leaves such a nice finish on your skin. And thanks for the heads up about the less-than-stellar products you tried. Like you said, rants aren't as fun to write as product raves, but they can be just as helpful! :)

  25. I tried a Wet n Wild gel liner in purple and it was very poor quality. Mayber their color gels are not forumulated the same as the black? Anywho, I see a lot of love for the black. I have yet to pick it up, though.

  27. You are soooo pretty Coco! I agree, I wasn't crazy about those Revlon blushes. They weren't terrible on me, but the NYX ones and the Maybelline ones are lots better! :)

  30. I knew Revlon's new cream blush was going to be bad. I had to restrain myself from buying it when it came out. I wish I had shown the same when I bought the AWFUL Photoready powder blush palettes. Their blushes are also kind of expensive for drugstores yet really bad for the most part. Cover Girl offers better pigmentation, even though I hate the sparkle in them. To either their own about bad reviews...sometimes, I just get really into it...especially when they are REALLY BAD. I don't think global multi-billion dollar corporations have the right to produce such crap and then charge inflated prices. I go in. Revlon irritates me because on one hand they can make (for the most part) great foundations, but then make such horribley cheap blushes, yet charge more than any other drugstore brand for it. The fact that Gucci Westman would get behind it makes it even worse.

  31. I'm dissappointed about the revlon blush, at least I saw this before I biught it though, phew! :) I have that collection 2000 mascara too! I love it! I think I need to go buy that laura mercier tinted moisturiser because your skin looks so lovely here :) x
