Hello, lovelies! You might remember (or you might not, haha) that I compared the Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint Pencils to the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains some months ago. In that post I said I wouldn't be purchasing any more Tarte Lip Tints in the future because they're too expensive. Plus, there are a bunch of affordable jumbo lip stain pencils in the market right now. However, I couldn't resist getting Exposed during the Sephora Chic Week sale. I saw it on a blog and fell in love. I really wanted it because it's matte and most jumbo stains are quite shiny (which I don't mind but I do prefer matte finishes in general). Here are my thoughts on it...
As you can see, the color is a tanned nude on the tube and when swatched. Since it's not completely opaque, my natural lip color comes through and it looks pink on the lips. This is the type of color that will look slightly different on everyone depending on your natural lip pigmentation.
Exposed is a very forgiving matte. It's soft, silky, and doesn't accentuate dryness. It applies very well and smells like mint. It doesn't leave much of a stain behind because it's a light color and the staying power is average. It's moisturizing but not as much as the non-matte shades.
I really really love this pencil mainly because it's matte and the color is gorgeous. The thing that irks me is that it's unnecessarily expensive. It has 0.1 ounce of product which is the standard for for jumbo lip pencils yet it costs three times as much. The formula is great but not amazing enough to justify the price difference compared to more affordable brands. I hope other brands start making matte jumbo lip stains soon. I'd be all over them for sure! Happy Friday!!
