Paul and Joe Cheek Colour in Peaches'n'Cream

paul and joe cheek color review peaches and cream
Hello, beauties! Today I'm excited to introduce a brand I've never featured on The Beauty Milk before and it's Paul & Joe Beaute. I've been lusting (truly lusting) for Paul & Joe products for ages. The brand first appeared on my radar when they released their cat-shaped lipsticks and blushers (the images went viral on Tumblr). Sadly, since the cat lipsticks were limited edition, I have not been able to get my hands on them. I have, however, taken the opportunity to try a variety of products from Paul & Joe. I'm so happy with the products I have tried so far that I will slowly keep adding their products to my collection. In this post I'll be reviewing their Cheek Colour in Peaches'n'Cream. A round-up post featuring all the P&J products I own will come in the future.

A little brand history, Paul & Joe started as a menswear fashion line by French designer Sophie Mechaly. The brand branched off into women's wear (Paul & Joe Sister), kid's wear (Little Paul & Joe), and cosmetics (Paul & Joe Beaute). The makeup line has a very "retro modern" feel that is reflected in its packaging. Initially I was afraid the products would fall into the "cute packaging, lacking quality" category but I was wrong. I've been using them for over a month and I'm quite impressed with the quality. A lot of their products feature a customization system where you buy the compact and the product refill separately. Don't worry, only a few of them are that way in case you don't want to be fussed with choices. Paul & Joe Beaute products are very popular in Asia. I often see them featured on Asian beauty blogs I follow. If you're Asian then you're very lucky because you have access to Paul & Joe Beaute Boutiques! I wish I could just pop into a store and try all their products in person.

Packaging
I picked up the Cheek Color Compact ($8) which is a gorgeous white compact with floral embossing. The blush color I chose was Peaches and Cream. The Peaches'n'Cream Cheek Color refill ($18) came safely wrapped in plastic within a cardboard box. It was really easy to pop into the compact as it's magnetic. The packaging is great quality and there's nothing else to say about it except that I think it's beautiful!
Color
I own a few orange/peach blushes but none as bright or tangerine as this one. It also has a shimmery/satin finish which is different from my usual mattes. The P&J Cheek Color selection has a lovely mix of pinks, nudes, and peaches and not all of them are as shimmery as Peaches'n'Cream. I've swatched the light highlighter side, the orange color, and both of them swirled together (see image below).
Formula
Peaches'n'Cream is soft, silky, and easy to blend. Texture-wise it's lovely and it's not super opaque right away (like Illamasqua or NYX blushes for example) which is good with a color as bright as this one. The gold shimmer was intimidating at first but it translates into a wearable shimmer on the face.
Availability
P&J, being more of a niche brand, is not sold in major beauty retailers like Sephora, Ulta, etc. Their products are available at Asos (which ships internationally). I did not order from Asos since it's not convenient for me (living in America) because the prices are higher (pound to dollar conversion) and the shipping times are longer. However if you're in the UK or Europe I definitely recommend them. For U.S. readers I recommend checking out Urban Outfitters (which is where I placed my first order) or Beauty Habit (where I placed my second order). I definitely recommend Beauty Habit over UO simply because they have better discount offers, a bigger Paul & Joe selection, and gifts with purchase.
Overall
I love all my Paul & Joe products and I'm excited to share the rest with you. If anything my only critique on this blush is that I wish the staying power was a little better. When you add up the cost of the compact and the refill it comes out to $26 which is what most high-end blushes cost. I'm happy to say that you're not just paying for the packaging, the quality is very much there.

Let me know if you've tried or have been interested in trying Paul & Joe cosmetics. Also if you purchase from places other than the ones I mentioned, please share them in the comments. :)

  1. Oh my gosh Coco YES!!!!! I've been lusting over Paul & Joe products for the longest time as well (they sell them on the Urban Outfitters website and I'm always SO tempted)... and the cat lipsticks definitely were what got me first (I feel suuuuper cool to be able to say I saw them before they went viral hahahaha). Anyways this looks absolutely GORGEOUS and I definitely may have to splurge sometime soon; I see no faults here! :) <3 <3

    1. Hahaha! I envy you for discovering them before the cat lipsticks went viral! I caught on a bit too late and they're so impossible to find now (if you factor reasonable price and shipping to my country) xx

  28. That orange looks so incredible on you!! I'm not sure if I could pull it off but I'd love to try something from Paul & Joe. And I seriously wish they'd rerelease the kitty lipsticks because I never got one when I had the chance and now I'd definitely splurge!

  29. Orange blushes are very brave. I think it takes a warm toned person to pull it off. It's sort a light peach bronze look on you. I would tone down the rest of my face with just mascara in that case! :)
