Hello, beauties! I recall seeing the new Vivids line from Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick range in quite a few blogs over the past month. I wasn't particularly tempted at first, but the swatches convinced me otherwise. The Vivids Lipstick line is full of super fun and really bright lipstick shades. The one I picked up is called Vivid Rose. I've worn this lipstick as a stain on my blog (in my Summer Makeup post). In this review I'm showcasing Vivid Rose's full potential.
I must say that I struggle to capture bright colors in photographs. Anything that's really bright or neon (like MAC's Candy Yum Yum for example) turns out somewhat muted in my photos. So imagine this being a bit brighter. Vivid Rose is a fun fuchsia. I consider it to lean slightly more towards the cool/blue toned side in person compared to what it looks like in the pictures.
I own many Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks. It's a really good formula and I found this Vivid to be no exception. I dislike the Color Sensational scent, but it's not strong and can easily be ignored. Vivid Rose doesn't bleed or tug, it's creamy and applies easily. It's not matte but the finish isn't overly shiny.
Vivid Rose lasts a bunch of hours on my lips because of the stain it leaves behind. After about 5-6 hours it starts to fade patchy on me so I take it with me for touch ups. It's pigmented but not super opaque. You can build the intensity, wear it lightly as a stain or as a bright lip color.

Overall, I'm really pleased with this lipstick and so glad I got it. I'm eyeing the orange shade from the Vivids range right now. Vivid Rose is perfect for summer or for anytime of the year if you enjoy wearing bold lip colors year round (I do!) Let me know if you own any Vivids. If so, what's your favorite shade?
