Wet'n'Wild Comfort Zone Palette Review

Wet'n'Wild Comfort Zone Palette - ($4.99)
Hello, lovelies! Today I'm going to quickly review a product I've owned for quite a while. I actually repurchased this palette recently because I broke nearly every eyeshadow in a failed depotting attempt. I sure learned my lesson. Anyways, it's a lovely palette with a great color selection. There are swatches, a makeup look, and a dupe/comparison after the cut.
The Wet'n'Wild Color Icon Palettes have been thoroughly reviewed by a lot of bloggers so I'll try to keep this short. :) All the colors in this palette are super soft and pigmented. They're also easy to blend. If I had to mention negatives about this palette (because there really aren't any considerable cons) they would be: a) the packaging isn't pretty and b) the eyeshadows have the slightest tendency to lean towards the crumbly side. The latter isn't a problem unless you try to depot them or handle them roughly. When I first used Wet'n'Wild eyeshadows I piled them on real thick (lol). I was used to drugstore eyeshadows being dry and sheer. Building up is not necessary with W'n'W eyeshadows because they're pigmented. If anything that will make them more likely to crease since they're so rich in texture.

I think the two "eyelid" colors are gorgeous! I also love the light taupe "browbone" shade (top right). The "definer" duochrome (bottom right) totally makes the palette in my opinion. It has been called a dupe for MAC's Club eyeshadow many times but I have to respectfully disagree. For me, a dupe is a product that looks exactly or almost exactly like another. The ingredients may be different and the finish might differ slightly, but when swatched or worn on the face they become almost indistinguishable. In the swatches below it becomes apparent that Club's duochrome is quite weak in comparison to the Wet'n'Wild definer color. Club has a very subtle duochrome that is hard to capture in pictures. I'd say Club has more of a shimmer duochrome and Definer has a metallic duochrome. Also, Definer's brown base has a more noticeable red undertone. If anything I'd be more inclined to say that Wet'n'Wild's Definer is more similar to Mirage from the Bare Minerals The Vision Duo.

Overall, I love this palette. I really wish W'n'W got into the habit of including matte shades in their palettes  because it would make them more versatile. Still, 8 eyeshadows for $5 is an absolute bargain! Let me know if you own this or any Wet'n'Wild Color Icon Palettes. Which one is your favorite?

  1. That eyeshadow look is awesome on you.

Truthfully, personally, I hate Wet n Wild eyeshadows. *dodges bricks* Except for Brulee. Lovely highlight shade. But yeah, WNW never work for me. :( But I have the Kat Von D Ludwig palette which looks exactly like this, so it's okay. :P

  17. This made me remember writing my own review of this beautiful palette and coming up with lots of different looks with it the month that I had it out in rotation to use... it really is so perfect but, like you said, would really be absolute if there were some matte shadows included. Heck, a whole matte palette from Wet 'n Wild would be welcomed as far as I'm concerned!! :)
