Giveaway + Weekly Beauty Question

Hello, beauties! Along with this week's beauty question I also have a super exciting giveaway for you! I want to thank you for your amazing support. I recently reached 1400 readers on Bloglovin' and 1300 on GFC. To me that is a humongous number. The prize is a super popular, cult beauty product: Dior Amber Diamond Diorskin Shimmer Star (Highlighting Powder). This baby was once rumored to be getting discontinued. Thankfully, it will be remaining in Dior's permanent line. This gorgeous powder can be used as a shimmery highlighter or eyeshadow. You can use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter the giveaway. It will pick a winner at random.

The only mandatory requirement is that you follow my blog through Bloglovin' (as this is a giveaway for The Beauty Milk readers). The rest will earn you additional entries. This is open INTERNATIONALLY. The giveaway will run for 4 weeks, it will end on the 3rd of August.

Here is this week's beauty question...
Q: Is there a beauty product you can't be bothered with? Why? Do you think it doesn't really make a difference or have you simply not found one that works for you? (Example, eyeshadow primers, lash curlers, etc.)

My Answer: I think I have a few. Firstly, eyelash primers. I've tried two lash primers (one was white and the other clear). I do think they actually make a difference but I'd rather skip the extra step. I think a good mascara does enough for my lashes. Secondly, face primer. Don't get me wrong, I love a good face primer but on an everyday basis I'd rather skip it. Plus the less I have to put on my face, the better. I think a good foundation should wear well on its own. However, silicone primers do wonders for dry patches. Primers in general make your skin's texture look amazing and minimize the look of pores. They also make your face makeup last extra extra long. It's a product I like to save for special occasions, I guess.

Definitely eyeshadows! I just can't be bothered to use it everyday!

  2. the product I can't be bothered to use everyday is primer! i'm yet to find one that works well with my skin and to be honest, there's not enough time to put on a full face in the mornings! lovely giveaway xx

  3. A BB cream!
I know, I know everyone loves BB creams, but I haven't find the one with the right shade and cover...They are either too white or too orange/yellow or too oily/dry. It's easier for me to find the right foundation.

  4. Lovely giveaway!I never use lash curlers - I have no idea how to use them xx

  5. I can't bother with eye lash primer, too. I just feel that if it's a good mascara, you shouldn't need that extra step

    ReplyDelete
  6. I won't use eyelash curlers. I have long, thick lashes that, combined with a good mascara, curl nicely so I totally don't need to use one. I also am of the opinion that it will damage them in the long run - if not used properly.

    1. Definitely, there's people that curl after mascara instead of before and that totally breaks lashes off x

  7. I agree with you on the face primer. I've tried several that haven't worked as well as I would like, which is a shame as makeup tends to just slide off my face. I'll probably buy one I haven't tried already in the future but for now I'm not bothered with them x

  8. Congratulations on the milestone! <3

For me it has to be primer and powder. Eventhough they do make a difference I just can't be bothered taking those extra steps in my everyday routine (except for eyeshadow primer which I do find necessary). And in summer I rarely ever wear foundation, it's too hot and humid for me to wear it.

  9. I feel the same way about lash primers, they don't seem to make much difference to me and it's an extra step I can gladly skip. Another thing I skip on a daily basis is filling in my eyebrows, I prefer to have a good eye makeup and flawless skin (when possible LOL) rather than perfect eyebrows : ) Good luck to all participating in the giveaway, such an awesome prize for your readers Coco, you're very generous ^^ xx

  10. Coloured primers like green/red/yellow/purple ones! I just think it can be a bit gimmicky especially for dark skin as you can never really tell the undertones and it sometimes makes the foundation go a funny colour!

    Great giveaway!

As for the beauty question, I can't be bothered with eyebrow products. Mostly because it just looks so time consuming when my daily face routine is long enough, and then, well, I'm just not very competent with what I'm doing. I end up having drag queens brows, haha

  15. I can't be bothered with liquid eyeliners. They just don't work for me. I have monolids, it's really hard for me to find a really good liquid eyeliner that won't smudge. So I always ended up not wearing eyeliners on daily basis.

  19. I would actually have to say the same as you... eyelash and face primer - I just can't bother with them. But I always use eyeshadow primer and eyeshadows for that matter, I never wear just mascara or just mascara and eyeliner. :)

  23. Bronzer! I don't know why, but I just can't be bothered with it, not to mention, it seems as if all bronzers are too dark on my skin, or if I find a light bronzer, it just won't show up! So I just don't bother.

  24. For me, it's been eyeliner for such a long time. When I was about 15 I used to wear it quite heavily and wouldn't go out without it, but now I'm 21 I'm much more into the minimalist makeup look with a coat of mascara, a BB cream, a cream blush and a pink lip rather than heavy black make up. I don't know if it's because I've not found the right one but I've tried a fair amount in my time and nothing has ever really wowed me. I've tried pencil, gel, liquid, pen, all sorts and nothing has really worked. I'm much preferring shadow sticks such as the ones by Rimmel to just put a little bit of colour in the inner corners on the lower lashline. I just feel like my eyes begin to look smaller with the addition of eyeliner!

I'd just like to say thank you for a wonderful giveaway and congratulations on both your GFC + Bloglovin follower achievements. I personally follow you on both platforms and absolutely adore your blog. I'd love to win as I've not tried anything from Dior yet but good luck to everyone!

  28. eyelash and face primer - I just can't bother with them. But I always use eyeshadow primer and eyeshadows for that matter, I never wear just mascara or just mascara and eyeliner. :) !!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hmm...I definitely agree with you about the eyelash primers -- not worth the trouble at all. The only other product that I can think of would have to be foundation primers. They don't make much of a difference at all..besides usually making your hands feel weird! I can never tell the difference at the end of the day if I have worn a primer or not.

Thank you so much for doing this giveaway. 1300 and 1400 followers is quite the accomplishment!

  30. COCO YOU BEAUTIFUL THING YOU. I would probably die if I won this giveaway!! Well, fingers crossed I guess :) And congrats on all of your followers; you truly deserve every single one! Oh, and by the way, that post header photo made me SO sad... poor Wet n Wild palette D:

When it comes to the beauty question I must say that the thing I skip is curling my lashes but I don't do that because of laziness it's purely because my lashes are quite curled on their own. Otherwise I've been SUPER lazy with eyeshadows and mascara this summer. The heat has pretty much put me off from wearing makeup so I just do the bare minimum foundation/brow routine and then leave it at that; I love doing up my eyes but it feels a waste in this hot summer heat!

Products I can't be bothered with is mascara. They can't do anything for my lashes, which are almost non-existent. I don't really care for face primers too. I've not found one that makes a big difference on me.

  35. I've never bothered with face primers. I find them unnecessary with a tinted moisturizer and bronzer/blush. Especially when my skin dries in the winter.

  36. I cannot be bothered with lash curlers. They frighten me.

  37. i can't be bothered with contouring and bronzer. i'm really pale and just don't think it would suit me so i'm a bit too scared to try and just can't be bothered with the whole thing!

  38. I totally agree with you about eyelash primers - mascara does enough. I think the product I can't be bothered with is bronzer. I'm quite pale, and contouring can just go so wrong! I have three different bronzers, and I only use them maybe once every two weeks. Maybe. More likely to be once a month. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  43. Great giveaway! So glad it's international!
I don't use face primers but when I go out I do use a lash primer. It really makes my lashes look longer and gives more volume.

  44. Congrats on your followers through both Bloglovin' and GFC! And what an awesome giveaway prize - Dior Amber Diamond has been on my wishlist for forever!

The one product I don't bother with very much is primer. I just don't think it makes a huge difference - maybe I haven't used the right one? I don't bother with undereye concealer most of the time either - I find my foundation is sufficient.

  52. the one product that I can't be bothered with, would probably be concealer. I don't really have acne so I don't feel the need to use concealer. You can't conceal what's not there! :) I'm sure if I used it, it would still help to make a smoother, less flawed complexion, but it's so tedious, and SO much easier to just go straight to the foundation.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Wow... congratulations on your achievements Coco! Amaaaaaazing! I won't enter though as I was lucky enough to win one of your previous giveaways.
For me it would have to be an under eye primer.. I just forget, or can't be bothered most mornings, plus my makeup seems to last without one xxx

  54. Congrats Coco! What a great landmark for your blog! The giveaway looks amazing, I've always wanted to try this.
For me, I think either eye primer or eyeliner! I know for some people eyeliner is essential but it's always so time consuming for me and I never get them similar. I do have an eye primer but I don't reach for it that often. xx

    ReplyDelete
  55. Face primers have no purpose for me actually, neither do face setters. I feel like they don't do anything for my makeup at all.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I rarely curl my lashes, use lipgloss (more of a tinted lip balm or lipstick kind of gal), or take the time to conceal any spots if I have any. I feel like my makeup is getting more and more minimal, especially with the warmer weather!

    ReplyDelete
  57. BB creams for sure...they have a very few shades. The ones I have tried don't give me any coverage and makes me oily!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Primer, definitely. I don't use it at all. However, having read your statement about the silicon ones helping with dry patches, I might try one now. :D

As for this week's beauty question: Say what eyelash primers? Since when were they invented? I have yet to come across one to be honest with you. I must be living under a rock or something? :D But even if I had before this, I don't think I'll even bother with it. I don't even tend to my eye brows (what actually frames my face)so let alone my eyelashes. Finding the perfect mascara for my Asian lashes is already quite the feat. I don't need more stress and plus I have no more time to squeeze it in my daily make-up routine.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Blush!! It's the ONLY thing I try to love over and over again but somehow I feel it just ruins my makeup. I've tried different colors, applications, brushes...
