Revlon Lip Butters: Juicy Papaya and Pink Lemonade

revlon lip butter juicy papaya pink lemonade review
Hello, beauties! I have two really pretty lip products to share with you today. They are limited edition shades from the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters ($7.50) line. I was not interested in these at first. Mainly because I already own too many Lip Butters. I have almost every single color from the permanent range and even have doubles of my favorites (Pink Truffle and Berry Smoothie). I have Jordan from Boho Vanity to thank because I only started to lust after Pink Lemonade and Juicy Papaya after seeing how pretty they looked on her.
Formula
Some bloggers mentioned that the formula for these was a bit different than the regular Lip Butter formula and I must agree. It's not bad by any means, but in my opinion it's not as good. It's thinner and less pigmented. I actually love the thickness and butteriness of the original LB because it makes them forgiving on dry lips.
Pigmentation
Like I mentioned before, these are sheerer than the permanent Lip Butters (specially Juicy Papaya). I have to go over my lips quite a few times to get full color payoff. Still, they give your lips a good color. Pink Lemonade is light pink and Juicy Papaya is a peachy coral.
Longevity
Sheer glossy lip products don't last that long in general. These last about 2-3 hours on me which is average.

Overall
I like these a lot, the colors are gorgeous. What I love about Revlon Lip Butters is that they make your lips look juicy. I'm not a lip gloss wearer but the gloss on these is just right for me. Neither Pink Lemonade nor Juicy Papaya have become my favorite Lip Butter colors but I'm glad I got them!

Have you tried these or the Revlon Lip Butters in general? Which one is your favorite?

  1. I've never tried the lip butters but I really want to because I've heard nothing but good things. Both shades look gorgeous on you. Juicy Papaya, especially!

    1. Thank you! You must try at least one to see if the formula is something that suits you. I recommend any color except Creamsicle which is the only one I haven't liked so far x

  2. I love the Revlon Lip Butters, my favourite so far is Candy Apple, but there are a few others I have my eye on but don't own yet! I bought Pink Lemonade last month, it's such a pretty colour but unfortunately it completely washes me out :( it looks lovely on you though!

    1. Aww that's a shame. Pink Lemonade is lighter than I thought it would be. If I were a bit more tan right now I don't think I'd feel comfortable wearing it xx

  3. I've tried Creamsicle and Red Velvet. Hated Creamsicle, like RV.

    1. Creamsicle is the only one I haven't liked. It accentuates flakes and doesn't look very good in general x

  4. I didn't even notice the different formulations. I really, really, really LOVE Juicy Papaya! It's the only one I even consider out of the other one's I have, although I do really like the Candy Apple one :)

  7. Juicy Papaya looks so nice! These limited edition shades are unfortunatelly not avaliable in my country, but I do have some of the 'original' ones. My favouite is Candy Apple. But I probably wear Berry Smoothie most often. :)

  8. I never tried any revlon lip butters because they are so overpriced here, around 16€. But there are a lot of cheaper alternatives and I really like them :)

  11. Both shades look gorgeous on you! I haven't tried any lip butters yet, I kind of think they're a bit overpriced for what they are (at least in my country they are pricy).

  19. I was quite keen to pick up Pink Lemonade but after seeing pictures of it online I find that I'm not as keen as it is quite pale I think. However, Juicy Papaya is probably my favourite one of all of them so I'm glad I picked that one up :)

  30. I'm still yet to try a lip butter, which upsets me, had considered Pink Lemonade cos the name is lovely but looking at your swatches I think it would be too light a shade for me...

  31. I love the Revlon Lip Butters! Pink Lemonade looks so beautiful on you, but I actually have trouble with that shade - too pale for me. My favorite is probably Candy Apple, even though I have been wearing Juicy Papaya non-stop lately.

  32. Nice reviews! Glad you got to test out the new shades! I bought Juicy Papaya and it was one of my favourite lip products over the summer. Definitely quite sheer, but I like that for the warmer months. Both of these look so pretty on you! xo
