Starry Night Inspired Nails

I haven't posted about nail polish in a while! Before I get into that, I want to make two announcements. The first is that I'm holding a blog sale that includes several items going for less than $5 and $10. You can see it here. The second thing is that yesterday was my blog's one year anniversary. I had always imagined I would write a special commemorative post or hold a giveaway. The truth is the date snuck up on me and I forgot. :/ There are some readers that have frequented my blog for that entire year. I know who you are and I appreciate you very much.

Now on to the nails. This design is loosely inspired by Van Gogh's "The Starry Night". I did not recreate the painting exactly but wanted to reflect its colors and textures. The nail design is quite easy to do since it's supposed to look messy. The products I used were:
+ A thin paint brush
+ A base coat (Revlon ColorStay Base Coat, $8)
+ A navy/royal blue polish (L'Oreal Jet Set To Paris, $6)
+ A white nail polish
+ A metallic gold nail polish (L'Oreal Because You're Worth It, $6)
+ A glossy top coat
