Halloween Makeup: Pop Art Inspired

pop art comic halloween makeup
Is it too late to post Halloween looks? I hope not, because I still have another Halloween makeup look to share with you after this one. Like I said in my previous Halloween post (say Halloween one more time!) I wasn't able to get these posts up on time. For this look, I decided to have a go at the popular pop art/comic book girl. I'm not 100% pleased with the result but I'm pretty happy with it considering it was my first try. And please excuse my shoddy Photoshop job in the image above.

Since this look is supposed to be fun and very colorful, I decided to go all out and try lilac lips. To achieve them I simply applied the Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Dab all over my lips. To give them some dimension, I patted white eyeshadow on the center of my lips (Illamasqua Sex Eyeshadow). On my cheeks I used the e.l.f. Studio Blush in Pink Passion, which is a bright bubblegum pink. To achieve mint green eyes, I used MAC's Aqua Eyeshadow over the Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Bedaub. To create the white dots on my face (and line my waterline) I used the Jordana Made To Last Eyeshadow Pencil in Eternal White. This pencil has come in handy many times this Halloween. Finally, I outlined my face and features using the Bourjois Liner Pinceau liquid liner.

Final thoughts on this look: The pop art makeup was very fun. It would have looked great with a pastel wig. However, next time I would make the brows thinner but more expressive. I was going for a surprised expression but don't think I achieved it. I would also make sure the white dots covered my neck as well. If you're proficient with liquid liner, it's a relatively simple, quick, and affordable costume.

Now that Halloween has passed tell me, what did you dress up as this year? Have a nice week!

  14. You did such a great job Coco!! I've always loved this type of look for Halloween and am surprised more people don't wear it out… it's the perfect "oh shoot it's Halloween already and I don't have a costume and I don't want to buy one but oh yeah I'm a makeup hoarder I can just pile on the makeup and be pop art!!" kind of a look ;)

  23. I love this! I've always wanted to just sit down and make myself look like Pop Art, but that would require a lot of time. Very cool! I'm sure there are still some Halloween parties still happening so this is awesome! :)
