Review: MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter

mua undress your skin shimmer highlighter review swatch
Beauty bloggers and beauty lovers will probably have seen this highlighter make its rounds a few months ago. It became an extremely hyped and coveted item which was often sold out in stores. I was able to get one thanks to the lovely Latasha who sent this to me in a swap (see the original swap post here). Many people love this highlighter but I didn't know what to expect since I haven't had the best look with MUA products in the past. Luckily, it's actually very very nice.

MUA's Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter is a frosty champagne pink highlighting powder. It's almost metallic but looks beautiful on the skin, specially if you apply it with a light hand. I've worn it during the daytime many times and never feel like it's too much. It will look nice on many skin tones as it isn't stark white or too yellow. The embossing on the powder is beautiful and the packaging is very nice, which is surprising considering its low price. The product is fairly soft, pigmented and wears well. The reason it became such a hyped product, I think, is that you rarely see highlighting powders at the drugstore, much less good ones.

I like to apply this with a Real Techniques Contour Brush or with my fingers. It's not super opaque so you can use a semi-dense brush without looking like a disco ball. The quality is very nice, the only reasons I could think for someone to dislike this product is that they prefer a different colored highlighter or one with subtler shimmer. I wore this in my Natural Makeup FOTD in case you want to see how it looks on. Highlighters are a pain to photograph though (on the face).

Let me know if you've tried the Undress Your Skin Highlighter too. Have a nice week!

  16. I have this but never reach for it! - Maybe that is a sign I just own far too many highlighters (is that possible?) It is so lovely though and such a bargain!
