NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard - $28 (now 10% off at Nordstrom)
The new NARS Radiant Creamy Concealers made their rounds around blogs when they were first launched earlier this year. At first, I crossed these off my list because initial reviews described them as cakey and drying. Then I started reading multiple rave reviews about them and my curiosity was definitely sparked. I tried a Radiant Creamy Concealer at Sephora and consequently borrowed a friend's. I was hooked and it wasn't long until I got my own in the color Custard (during the Sephora VIB 20% off sale, of course).

I am not sure why these are called "radiant" as the finish is matte. The only quality I can think of that could attribute to this name is the strange blurring effect it has under my eyes. It's no miracle worker but it does make my under eyes look nicer than any of my other concealers. The texture is thick and creamy but blends well. This thick liquid-y consistency makes it the perfect versatile concealer: it works well on blemishes and under the eyes. Thin liquid concealers don't effectively cover blemishes or spots. The coverage is medium, it's definitely not the kind of concealer I need to layer. I would compare it to the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer except less dry and not as long wearing (and it doesn't oxidize on me.)

Overall, I adore this concealer. It has become one of my top favorite concealers along with the Revlon PhotoReady Concealer. If I had to chose something to improve it would be the wear time. It's good but I'd love it if it could be great. People who might not like this? Maybe those with very dry skin. On a side note, it is a ridiculously expensive concealer. I'll keep you updated on how fast I use this up and whether it's a good "value" (price per uses).

Have you tried the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealers yet? Do you love them too?

  1. This sounds like a really good concealer! Indeed, strange why it's called radiant whilst it dries matte. I've never ever used a product from Nars... It's a little bit out of my budget :) I use the Maybelline 24hours concealer and I think it's great, but way too dry for under my eyes.

    Lovely review and pictures!

    1. When it comes to drugstore concealers I really love Revlon PhotoReady and the ones for Bourjois. Perfect and at a great price xx

  2. I've heard so many good things about this concealer and have considered it a time or two, but you're right it's so expensive. I always worry that with products in that type of tube you can't get out ALL of the product once you get down to the end, so I'll be interested to hear how long it lasts you.

    1. Yeah, because of the rectangular packaging, I'm a little worried. Squeeze tubes are better for getting your money's worth x

  6. I have this too, but I was a little disappointed because I was expecting it to be a full coverage concealer. The SA even told me it was full coverage. Hmm, sneaky NARS employees...haha. But it's still a nice concealer! I prefer liquid ones as they're less drying for me.

  7. I keep hearing a lot of great things about this. Nars products are such good quality so it sounds like this is well worth the price tag!

  8. I like that you've compared it to Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer but saying it's less drying. This is exactly the type of concealer Ive been after! I find I have to be so careful with any makeup products caking from dry skin, and have such awful dark circles. I may have to see where I can get hold of this... Thanks lovely! xo

  10. Another NARS product to go ogle. I have an oily eye area, so I doubt this would work out for me. Still, no harm in going to take a look ;) Great review! x

  11. I've been lusting after this for ages, but I do agree it seems a little pricey! So glad it's worked for you though, I'm more convinced to take the plunge now :)

  16. Everytime I try to find this concealer in stores its always sold out :p I think I might stay away though for now, as my skin in the winter is super dry, and will probably pick one up in the springtime.

  18. I was debating on whether to buy it or not, then at the airport I was like 'Imma get it!', but of course, my shade had sold out. I'll have to save it for another time x

  19. I have the worst dark circles, I'm always on the hunt for good concealers. I'm oily but for some reason concealers tend to dry out that area of my face, so this sounds ideal for me!

  22. I loooove this concealer soooo much! I agree, this definitely covers my undereye circles better than any of my other concealers. And it's amazing to travel with and to touch up when you're out!

  23. Sounds like a super heavy duty concealer that will stay and look great all through the day! I'm not particularly fond of concealers, I don't feel a need to spend more money on a concealer, although there is one that I like using all over sometimes!

  24. I've always been intrigued by this one, but I still haven't tried it out. The best concealer I've found so far is Collection Lasting Perfection, but as so many people say these two are very similar, I'm wondering if the Nars one is worth the price...

    1. They have their trade-offs. The NARS one is less drying but the Collection LP is longer lasting xx
