Burgundy Makeup Look ft. MUFE

I'm not sure if the color scheme of this makeup look is burgundy or just plain purple but I still think it's very pretty. The star of this look is the Make Up For Ever Diamond Eyeshadow in Diamond Burgundy 311 ($21). I haven't been able to use this eyeshadow as much as I would like to since purchasing it back in November (during the Sephora 20% off VIB Sale). Can we talk about the $1 price increase on MUFE eyeshadows lately though? As if they weren't ridiculously expensive already.

EYES: To keep my eyeshadow from creasing I used the Milani ShadowEyez Eyeshadow Pencil in Almond Cream as a base. I then applied the MUFE 311 Diamond Eyeshadow all over the lid. On the crease I blended a bit of Makeup Geek Latte. To help with blending and highlight my brow bone I used some Makeup Geek Peaches & Cream below my brows. To darken the outer corners of my eyes I blended a bit of Make Up For Ever's 160 (Matte Dark Purple) on the outer V. To highlight my inner corners I applied a bit of MAC's Trax. I then lined my waterline with my favorite nude eyeliner MAC's Chromagraphic Eye Pencil in NC15/NW20. I created a winged line using the Illamasqua Infinity Precision Gel Liner. Lastly, I added some mascara (L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions).

FACE: I applied my MAC Pro LongWear Foundation in NC30 using a generic blending sponge. I then did some concealing using Revlon's PhotoReady Concealer in Light/Med. My blush of choice was the Bobbi Brown Powder Blush in Sand Pink. To add a bit of shimmer and glow, I applied the MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter* on the top of my cheek bones. In order the set my makeup I applied Rimmel's Stay Matte Powder in Transparent all over the face.

LIPS: I did something I never usually do which is layer lipstick and lip gloss. My lip color of choice was the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bolero. On top of that I applied BECCA's Ultimate Colour Gloss in Fallen Angel

Phew! Writing down the products of a full face of makeup takes a while. Also, if you see a product featured in a FOTD or makeup look that you would like to see reviewed let me know in the comments.

* I purchased every product featured myself except the MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter which I received during a beauty swap.

  20. This is such a great look on you Coco! I really need to try this burgundy look as I've seen it on a few different blogs though, but the only somewhat burgundy shadow I have is MAC's Cranberry and I'm not sure I want to go out and buy more haha. Maybe I'll mix a little this and that and see what I can come up with ;)

    1. Well, considering MUFE has a few "out there" colors (just like Illamasqua) it makes total sense to gravitate towards those :) They're colors you can't find in other brands xx
