Whenever Maybelline releases new limited edition shades of their Color Tattoos ($6.99) a frenzied drugstore hunt begins and it can last a couple of weeks. Although the hype has died down and Color Tattoos don't tend to sell out anymore, I have extreme difficulty finding their limited edition displays locally. Thankfully I was able to get my hands on three shades from the Dare To Go Nude collection. I initially meant to only get Caramel Cool, but you know how it goes.
The Maybelline Color Tattoo formula has been reviewed extensively by many bloggers so I'll just say that these are consistent with the regular permanent formula. They're creamy and long wearing. They are easy to blend as they're all shimmer/metallics (I find the matte Color Tattoos to drag and pull more than other matte cream eyeshadows). The least pigmented shade of the bunch is Pure Nude, a pearly beige. To me this shade is not a must have and it's the one I use the least. Beige-ing Beauty is similar to MAC's Let's Skate Paint Pot in the sense that it adds shimmer and glitter without much color (Let's Skate is pinker though). It's perfect for adding shimmer to matte eyeshadows because the glitter comes through from underneath. Last, but not least, is Caramel Cool. This is the absolute must have for me. It's gorgeous and I'm glad I love it as much as I was hoping I would. Go and get this, for reals.
Keep an eye out for future makeup looks featuring these new Color Tattoos. Have you picked some up?
