NYX Infinite Shadow Sticks in Rose Gold and Flushed

You know (or don't know) how much I love my cream eyeshadow sticks. Especially the Milani ShadowEyez which I recommend to anyone who will listen. So when NYX came out with a new kind somewhat recently, I made an order on their website right away (that was months ago, LOL). I had high hopes for these. I was hoping they would be an improved version of their popular Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils. I don't generally enjoy the Jumbos from NYX because they're not long wearing, feel a bit oily, and need to be set with powder eyeshadow to prevent creasing.

I'm tend to blab so let me keep this short. Here's what I think about the NYX Infinite Shadow Sticks:
Color selection - beautiful
Pigmentation - great
Longevity - great, these are very crease resistant
Texture - average/below average

Sadly, these failed for me in terms of texture. They are not nearly as dry and horrible as the Rimmel ScandalEyes Shadow Paint I reviewed before but they are noticeably drier than all of my other favorite cream eyeshadows. This translates into having to tug on your eyes a bit more to get them to blend nicely. Again, they aren't terribly difficult to work with but I find myself reaching for my other cream eyeshadows instead. These have sadly become forgotten and I wouldn't repurchase another color. It's a case of: not bad but there's better (At the same price point, I might add. I'd pick the Jordana 12-Hour Sticks, Milani ShadowEyez, and Maybelline Color Tattoos over these.)

  1. Interesting to hear your thoughts on these. I actually haven't tried any shadow sticks but I will probably give these a miss due to their drier texture. I'd rather try out the Milani ones!

  3. Such a shame, since they look so gorgeous! I've been hunting for a rose gold, and while I am super in love with MAC Rubenesque at the moment, I'm still wondering about other products out there. Oh well, I guess I'll have to check out Michelle Phan's Em Ro's Gold eyeliner. :P x

    1. Most definitely. So many things can go wrong! They can be super greasy sometimes or the total opposite x

  7. Too bad the formula was a tad disappointing, but thanks for listing other affordable options that do the job better! Flushed really does look like a lovely everyday shimmer shade :)

  8. Thanks for this review. I too love shadow sticks but find a lot of them to be hit and miss so it was great hearing your thoughts on the texture before picking up a whole bunch.
    Great post!

  12. The Rose Gold looks especially dry… what a bummer!! At least NYX doesn't cause your bank account to weep so it wasn't tooooooo too much of a waste :/

  14. I'm not a huge fan of cream shadows in general so I would've been passing on these anyway. I prefer powder.

  18. I love cream shadows too as they're so easy to wear. Its a shame these weren't great as the colours look pretty. Cream shadows are so hit & miss. I like the Laura Mercier & Bobbi Brown ones. They wear really well on me

  19. I'm super picky when it comes to the texture of cream eyeshadows as well for some reason. I just feel like it's tugging on my eyelid if they're too dry...

  22. it's a shame the texture of these is such a letdown. i find the same about the jumbo pencils, they're affordable and have a huge colour range but they're just not very good quality so i'd rather buy something else. unfortunately it probably won't be these though!

  24. flushed is stunning, but if it drags on the eye...... I think I'd rather spend my money on the new Color Tattoos!
