Summer is here! That means that the (sometimes dreadful) task of getting smooth legs and pretty toes ready for bathing suits and sandals has come. I was asked to share my current summer nail art designs and leg care routine using the selection of Sally Hansen and Energizer products at Target. Be sure to check the end of the post to find out how to enter the #CollectiveBias #MySummerLook Instagram Contest where $2,250 worth of Target gift cards will be given away!

My nail routine is simple:
1. I start by filling my nails down to the desired shape using the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails file.
2. To protect my nails and ensure a smooth color application, I apply the Sally Hansen Double Duty base coat.
3. Mint green is one of my favorite colors, period. So I chose to paint my nails using the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color in Mint Sorbet.
4. I've been lusting after a flaky top coat for ages! Now I finally have one, the Sally Hansen Triple Shine in Pearly Whites. I used one coat here.

Another nail pairing I'm going to be wearing this summer is a blueberry design (one of my favorite fruits). I created this using the Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color in White On as a base. Then I drew on the rest using the I Heart Nail Art Pens in White, Blue, and Black. As with any design, it can be worn shiny or matte depending on your mood. I used the Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat to transform it.

After my nails are done I head into the shower to work on my legs. Make sure to give your nails enough time to dry. The benefit of a shower is that it helps remove the excess polish on the sides of your nails and cuticles. For my legs I used the Skintimate Skin Therapy Shave Gel for Sensitive Skin along with the Schick Hydro Silk Sensitive Care Razor. After your legs are looking smooth, be sure to apply some sunscreen to protect your skin. I used the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen in SPF 30. Tip: Shave your legs the day before going to the beach. Shaving them on the same day can cause itchiness or irritation once you enter the salty sea water.

You can easily find all these nail and skin products at Target's Sally Hansen/Energizer display:
