I have three types of makeup travel bags: the on-the-go/car bag which I use when I don't have time to do my makeup before leaving the house in the morning (which is rare), the weekend bag for weekends away or short holidays out of the country, and finally the plain old travel bag which is usually huge (in comparison to the others) and is the one I take with me for trips that last longer than a week.

In this particular case, I'm showing my weekend bag which I packed for a short 4-day trip. A few years ago I didn't use foundation regularly but now I love using it! So concealer, primer, and foundation are a must! Face powder too! Although if I'm traveling to a dry/cold place I will leave it behind. I also take the opportunity to use up my cream eyeshadows so I leave the eyeshadow primer behind and use those as a base. To save space, I pack multi-use products like cream blushes and use them on both my cheeks and lips. Since I like having options I couldn't resist bringing two: an orange and a pink.

What do you usually take with you for weekend trips?

  2. I definitely do the same thing with blushes; I've just brought my Stila Convertible colour blush. I never thought I would love it so much! You've done a great job of streamlining your kit. I have a ridiculous amount of eyeliner with me, along with my two lipstick palettes, but I figured since I'm travelling around for 3 months, I can afford to bring my stuff with me. After all, it fits well into three of the amenities bags that airlines offer on long haul flights ;) x

    1. The Stila CCs are ah-mazing! Haha, don't worry, girl. I get you. My makeup bag for longer trips is HUGE. I take so much eyeshadow, LOL. For all kinds of makeup looks. And I always use them!

  3. You pack light! It's a nice selection of products though =)
I usually bring whatever foundation/concealer/powder I'm using at the moment, an eye primer, UD's Naked Basics (which I use for eyes, eyebrows and contouring), a pink or peach blush and a bunch of lip products because I can't help myself haha

  8. I love how you have just the essentials so you don't get bogged down with stuff. I usually take just a bb cream, mascara, and tinted lip balm!

  23. Love your picks! I also try to pack as many multifunctional products when I have to travel. I'm always guilty of buying things when I travel so I need to keep my makeup bag to a minimum. lol
