Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Coral, $21: I adore liquid lipsticks. That's no exaggeration. When I saw Too Faced was coming out with their own range of liquid lipsticks I got more excited than I ever have over a makeup release. I wasn't able to buy one right away because I had save up for it first. And if I could I'd get all the shades they offer, but the one that stole my heart the most was Melted Coral.
My fear was that these would be like the Rimmel Apocalips/Show Offs: extremely pigmented and opaque shiny lacquers that don't set and smear/transfer easily. Thankfully, they're not. They are not like most liquid lipsticks either (the ones that come with a doe foot wand) because they don't set to a transfer-resistant retro matte finish. These Too Faced Melted Lipsticks are closer to an OCC Lip Tar, but are thicker and not as matte (and easier to work with). These remind me the most of Bite Beauty Cashmere Lip Creams. They are really similar to that formula, actually. So if you enjoy those you will like these.
Basically the Too Faced Melted Lipstick: feels smooth and creamy. It glides and applies easily. It doesn't accentuate dryness. It's very pigmented and opaque. The finish is a creme/satin: neither matte nor shiny. It's not transfer-proof like some matte liquid lipsticks, but it wears well and doesn't bleed.
I really like this! I love that it's not glossy. I'm a matte girl but I sometimes like to mix it up without going full-on shiny. This is great for people who are prone to dry/flaky lips that have always wanted to try liquid lipsticks but were put off by the ultra matte finish that most have.
I keep meaning to make a round-up post featuring the best and worst liquid lipsticks in my stash but it keeps getting put off every time I buy yet another liquid lipstick, haha. Have you tried the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks?
