Make Up For Ever HD Second Skin Blush in 515 Tangerine ($26): When Make Up For Ever released their line of cream blushes I knew I wanted to try them right away. I am a cream blush fiend and have reviewed a few different formulas on my blog over the course of the past year. I regard MUFE as a high-quality brand but the prices are pretty high up there. I waited until IMATS New York and purchased this with a considerable discount. I went for the prettiest, brightest color they had-- a tangerine orange.
In the picture above I'm wearing 515 Tangerine on my cheeks and lips. I only dabbed a little on the center of my lips and blended it out like a stain because my lips were dry and chapped and the formula was somewhat unforgiving in that area. On the cheeks it's a totally different story. The blush is easy to blend, emollient, and extremely pigmented. The formula has no greasiness or slip which means it lasts for hours on the cheeks. It also means it lasts better on oilier skin tones. It reminds me a lot of the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge blushes which I love. As a general tip, remember to only tap your brush once into the blush. With pigmented formulas like this, that is usually enough to do both cheeks. A dense brush like the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush is ideal for blending out the edges. That's what I use to apply all of my cream blushes.
Let me know if you've tried the HD Second Skin Cream Blushes too!
