Frosty Blue Makeup Look: FOTD with Coastal Scents

I feel like I keep talking about an upcoming roundup post of all my Coastal Scents eyeshadows but am nowhere nearer to actually posting it. I do apologize. There have been a few technical difficulties surrounding that post. First of all, some of the eyeshadows came with their old numbering instead of their new names. Secondly, I accidentally knocked over one of my eyeshadow palettes causing a few shades to shatter. I had already photographed and swatched them so it all turned into an inventorial clusterfuck. Regardless, here's a frosty blue makeup look I created.

Eyes
Milani Eyeshadow Primer
Coastal Scents Eyeshadow in Light Blue (inner corner)
MAC Moon's Reflection Eyeshadow (outer bottom lash line)
Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow in #60 (outer corner)
MAC Chromagraphic Pencil nc15/nw20
Neutrogena Healthy Lengths Mascara*

Face
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Punjab

NARS Cactus Flower Blush
MAC Charcoal Brown Eyeshadow (brows)

Lips

I know most people cringe when they hear "blue" and "frosty" makeup, but I actually really liked how this turned out. The matte navy eyeshadow helped tone it down and it ended up looking shiny/wet instead of frosty. What's your stance on wearing the color blue on the eyes?

  7. I've learned to stop cringing at 'blue' and 'frosty', cus they can be such fun shades and finishes to play with. You definitely make them work! Such pretty wintry shades :)

  8. I've really been craving a light blue this spring... which is weird because I never want to wear blue eyeshadow! I was thinking about getting a bare minerals duo, but the coastal scents is so much more affordable! Thanks!

  10. I have never tried the eyeshadows from Coastal Scents so I am looking forward to your roundup. I dig blue eyeshadow, I must admit I don't use it very often but I have a L'Oreal Infallible Endless Sea eyeshadow that is phenomenal!

  11. This is super beautiful. It looks mermaidy and ethereal. I love how you shaped the shadow, especially with that V in the outer corner.
