Makeup Geek products will always hold a special place because a review of some of their eyeshadows was the second post I ever published on this blog back in 2012 (click here to see it, warning: low quality tiny pictures ahead). I love their products and have made some orders over the past years. Last month I was offered to try a few of their products, including the Vegas Lights Eyeshadow Palette ($37.99). Here are my thoughts on it.
I own plenty of eyeshadow palettes, specially neutrals, but the Vegas Lights Palette does not feel at all repetitive. It is very warm, gold, and copper centric. None of my other palettes are as predominantly red/orange in undertone as this one. I never knew a palette like this was lacking in my collection, but I'm very happy now that I have it. I love those kinds of tones in eyeshadows.
All of the shades are really pigmented, easy to blend, soft, and generally great quality. My favorite colors are Sin City and Roulette, they are simply stunning on the eyes. I love the inclusion of matte shades like Mirage and Desert Sands because they are ideal for the browbone, crease, and make great transition colors.
The packaging is cute and made of sturdy cardboard. It's not excessive, it's small, and travel friendly. It also includes a large mirror.
The only critiques I have for this palette are: Mirage is somewhat powdery and the gold glitters in Bada Bing basically disappear upon application (so you might consider it the third matte shade of the palette).
Do I recommend this eyeshadow palette? Yes!
