Thanks to Linda Hallberg's and Nikkie Tutorial's use of this eyeshadow, MAC Uninterrupted Pro LongWear Eyeshadow ($21) was on my wishlist for a long time. Since it's a Pro Longwear formula and it's larger in size than regular MAC eyeshadows, it's a bit more expensive. After some time I was able to save some money towards its purchase. Recently, I've seen people comment on its similarity to a color in the Makeup Geek Vegas Lights Palette called Desert Sands. I received said palette recently so let's see how closely these two colors resemble each other.
Right off the bat you may notice that Uninterrupted is darker than Desert Sands in the pan. That becomes even more noticeable once you swatch them. In comparison, both are warmer than Makeup Geek's Preppy, which is a cooler-based and truer camel color. In terms of formulation, both are matte and nicely pigmented.
In the end, it comes down to the fact that one is darker than the other. You could use a lighter hand in order to get Uninterrupted to look like Desert Sands but it wouldn't work the other way around. Of course, Desert Sands is much cheaper than Uninterrupted ($6 vs $21 or $6 vs $14 if you buy Uninterrupted in pan form). They are really similar so it's up to you.
Makeup Geek has just started selling Desert Sands on its own so you don't need to purchase the entire Vegas Lights Palette in order to own it. I can see why these camel/corduroy shades have become so popular, they're a new take on neutrals and are very flattering.
