Wet'n'Wild Color Icon Glitter Eyeshadow Singles

As you know, I love posting both negative and positive reviews because I find them equally helpful. Negative reviews seldom make an appearance because I tend to research products obsessively thoroughly prior to purchase. And many times I pass along products I don't like and forget to photograph them before they leave my hands. Here's one of the major disappointments of the past few months...

wet'n'wild color icon glitter eyeshadow singles brass groupie review
I went through a strong glitter kick during the start of 2015 and when I saw the Wet'n'Wild Color Icon Glitter Singles I'd thought I'd give them a try. My expectations were not too high, drugstore cream glitters tend to be under performing, but at $1 each it wasn't much of a loss. Well... I suppose the pictures above already gave it away. These were terrible. They were sort of creamy/greasy on the pan, but I had hopes they would set once applied. Two-in-one glitters with a base would make the process of wearing cosmetic glitter so much easier because I wouldn't have to separately purchase (and apply) a glitter adhesive and then the actual glitter. However, these Wet'n'Wild ones did not deliver good results.

On the left (in the image above), I wore Brass over a primer and powder eyeshadow. After about 30 minutes, it has creased horribly and almost all of the glitter had gathered into my eyelid fold. Since I didn't want to risk this product ruining my makeup again, I wore Groupie alone on a bare lid to see if it would wear just as badly as Brass. Unsurprisingly, after about 10 minutes the same thing happened: a creased greasy mess.

So don't waste your money! Yeah, they only cost $1 each but I find these pretty non-redemable. I could have bought some candy or something with those $2 I wasted.

  1. Wow no wonder you were disappointed! I've never tried the Wet n Wild glitter singles but have some of the other shades in creme brûlée and noisette and they are fab!

  3. I've been eyeing up these glitter singles but was afraid I'd run into the same problem... I don't want to go out and get a glitter adhesive just for these cause I don't wear glitter that often anyway. It's a bit disappointing, but thanks for the review!

  6. Oh boy I felt horrible giggling when I saw the eyelid swatches! It's a wonder how products like that make it on the market, I think I have yet to hear about a jelly glitter shadow like these actually doing well :( Definitely a shame since they seem so fun.

  14. Holy shizballs, Coco! They still did this over primer AND powder shadow!?!?!?!? NOOOO! I have a gold one I've been saving for a special occasion like New Years or a really fun night out, but me thinks I'll chuck the glitter and recycle the pan. Thanks for this!

  15. I was already aware of the not so good performance of these but never thought they would be this bad! It's definitely helpful to now when a product is not worth the money! Thanks! xx
