Cheap Thrills: Drugstore Haul (under $10)

best cheap drugstore products haul under 10 dollars milani stayput brow pomade eyebrow brush liquid lipstick mac velvet teddy dupe wet n wild bare it all
Here are some cheap drugstore treats you can try for under $10. I know that even though money might be tight sometimes, you may want to do a bit of shopping after a bad day. I got all of these products for approximately $10. Prices vary by country or retail store but these are still really affordable at most places. One of the products is a great dupe for MAC's Velvet Teddy lipstick and one has become my new favorite eyebrow brush. So these really are drugstore gems.

Wet'n'Wild Mega Last Lipstick in Bare It All 902C - $2

This is not the first time I've featured this product on my blog. I first introduced Bare It All on 2013 as my new favorite drugstore lipstick. I'm a huge fan of MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick and this is quite similar. (If you want to see side by side swatches comparing Velvet Teddy and Bare It All, see this post.) I've posted about the Wet'n'Wild Mega Last lipsticks before. They have a nice formula, are cruelty free, and really cheap. My only qualm is that the packaging is rather crappy as the cap tends to come off and, since the bullet doesn't retract all the way, your lipstick can smear all over your bag.

Chika Makeup Soft Matte Lip Cream Liquid Lipstick in Dark Plum II - $3

As far as I can tell, Chika Makeup is like a brand extension of Colorina Cosmetics. Colorina Cosmetics is a Puerto Rican brand that makes affordable (and really cute) nail polishes. Thanks to the matte liquid lipstick trend, we are seeing more and more options at the drugstore. I'm curious to see if we can start getting $20 quality lipsticks for $3 to $5. In terms of the Chika Matte Liquid Lipsticks, I was excited to see that they come in a bunch of fun colors (blue, purple, nudes, reds, black, etc.) However, after swatching most of them I discovered that the formula is hit-and-miss. The blues were particularly patchy and disappointing. I did really like how Dark Plum II swatched so I bought it. It looks good on the lips, doesn't feel drying, and dries to a complete matte finish. It wears well too. My only problem with it is that it feels sticky on the lips. I wish it felt better, of course, but for $3 I am willing to overlook it. I wore this lipstick in this post, in case you want to see how it looks like.

Milani StayPut Brow Pomade Brush - $5 to $8 depending on the retailer

The new Milani StayBut Brow pomade comes with a double ended angled eyebrow brush/spoolie that I thought I would hate. I assumed that since the brush came free with the pomade that it be of questionable quality. I ended up loving it because of how thin and small the bristles are. It draws thin and precise lines. And the spoolie on the other end is super convenient. Since this does come with the brow pomade I should have included it in these photographs as well... I'm not quite sure what happened there. That would mean you could technically get four products instead of three for $10. You'll have to excuse my oversight.

I whole heartedly recommend these products so make sure to keep an eye out next time you're at the drugstore (highstreet). Let me know of any good cheap products you've bought recently!

xx Coco

  4. I love almost everything I've tried from Milani so far and that brush looks perfect too, so I'm glad to hear it's better quality than you thought. Would also love to know what you think of the pomade. I think Anastasia sets the bar when it comes to brow products, especially with the pomade, but it would be great if there were a drugstore dupe that actually compares to it.
