Spring is approaching and that means a second chance to tackle our 2016 resolutions. Many of those probably include organization and cleaning. Well here’s my quick morning cleaning routine– for the face. My morning cleansing routine has to be speedy yet effective because I want to dedicate as much time as possible to my makeup. For this purpose I’ve been using the new Bioré Baking Soda Pore Cleanser along with their Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub. We’ve all heard of the diverse uses for baking soda but with the Cleansing Scrub, Bioré found a way to provide invigorating and gentle exfoliation.
Skincare (3 minutes)
I begin by cleansing my face to prep it for makeup. Cleansing your face right away is one of the best ways to help wake yourself up in the morning.
I quickly cleanse with the Baking Soda Pore Cleanser and follow up with the Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub. They are both targeted for combination skin. Initially, I was very intrigued with the packaging of the scrub. I tried not to read too much of the label or a lot of info beforehand so I could have a “first impressions” type of experience during my first use. I ended up turning the tube upside down and squeezing it expecting a traditional pasty scrub consistency. Imagine my surprise when some white powder shot into the palm of my hand! It reminded me of a sugar dispenser. It turns out you have to activate the Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub with water. After you’ve poured a bit of the powder into the palm of your hand, you need to add a small amount of water to form a paste. The more you dilute it, the gentler the exfoliation. I like the idea of this fizzy customized scrub because it’s not gritty or chunky.
After my face has been cleansed and exfoliated, I move on to the makeup.
Makeup (7 minutes)
Some days I will have time to play with eyeshadows, but most mornings I am trying to get out the door as quickly as possible. If I only have a few minutes to do my makeup there are four things that are top priority: eyebrows, mascara, concealer, and lipstick. These things are simple and fast to apply but they make a big difference in looking put together.
Have you seen the new Bioré Baking Soda Pore Cleanser and Cleansing Scrub in stores? I got mine at Walmart’s beauty section. Remember that you can opt for the Bioré Charcoal range if you have oily skin. Have a good day!
