Times Square: The perfect nude liquid lipstick

Nude lipsticks and liquid formulas: two of my favorite things. Combine the two of them and you have an instant makeup bag staple. Here's a perfect one to try that won't break the bank. I'm talking about the ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip liquid lipstick in the Times Square. I showed this a bunch of times on Instagram already so here's a formal rundown of why I think you need this in your collection.

Why you'll love this
  • It's long wearing. ColourPop's liquid lipstick formula dries completely matte and transfer proof. You can apply it and forget about reapplying for several hours.
  • Universally flattering. Of course, that's a huge claim. I can't guarantee that unless I've tried it on every skin tone. However, I found that pink toned browns such as Times Square tend to be the most complementary neutral lip colors.
  • Versatile color. It's like a little black dress. It's a lip color that goes well with everything. Any makeup look, any eyeshadow color.

Basically, it's less boring than your standard nude because of its rosy brown tone. It's not really light in tone, so it also works well on darker skintones. It's a pinker Kat Von D Lolita and a less orange Lolita 2. If you love Lolita, then you'll really like this too. Best of all, it's only $6.50! Bless ColourPop.

What's your go-to nude lipstick? Are there any ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip colors you particularly love? Have you caught the flu yet? I have. šŸ˜·

  1. I have not tried any Colourpop items yet (*cue record scratch & freeze frame*) but reviews like yours and swatches from Temptalia have convinced me that my new nude lipstick needs to come from them. MUFE N9 was such a great lipstick but they discontinued it :( Times Square and WYD are the two liquid ones on my wishlist, but I do enjoy a "traditional"lipstick, so Lay Over and Lady lux lipsticks are on my radar as well xx

    1. Hahaha, I think they are worth the time. Now their shipping is more affordable as they've expanded as a brand. I got most of my stuff during the early stages when they had more expensive and slow shipping. But it was still worth it because of the quality and variety of their products at a drugstore price point. I sound like an ad, lol. x
