Color Spotlight: Green/Emerald Makeup
Green is a color that compliments brown eyes very well. However I have a hard time wearing green and find that I only like emerald and forrest greens on my skin tone. Here are a few different shades of green you can try. Most are very affordable (under $10). The last makeup color-themed spotlight I did was on navy blue. Click here if you want to see it.
01. L’Oreal Colour Riche Nail Polish in Hyde Park: I got this in a gift basket prize which is great because I don’t think I would have picked it up otherwise. I love how it looks against my skin tone. The formula is thin and easy to apply, it’s opaque in two coats.
02. MAC Humid Eyeshadow: This eyeshadow is great for those who are still afraid of color as it’s not too vibrant. It also isn’t completely opaque so it can be built up or worn sheerly. It has a slight frosty/pearly finish.
03. Jordana Made To Last Eyeshadow Pencil in Endless Emerald: I will be reviewing the Made To Last pencils in the future. In short, they’re pretty good. I like them better than the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils but not as much as I love the Milani ShadowEyez.
04. The Balm Jealous Jordana Eyeshadow: Jealous Jordana is what I’d call a blackened emerald or peacock green. On the eyes it reads black with a few emerald sparkles. When worn over a green base it’s absolutely stunning.
Left to right: Jordana Endless Emerald, theBalm Jealous Jordana, MAC Sumptuous Olive (not shown above, for reference), MAC Humid
Sleek Fern eyeshadow on top of Jordana Endless Emerald. Revlon ColorBurst Lip Gloss in Pink Ice on the lips.
How do you like to wear green? What are your favorite green makeup items?

2nd Nov 2013 - 1:56 pmSo pretty- what a great color highlight. I need more emerald green in my life I had a bh cosmetics shadow in mossy green and used to wear it all the time I loved the way it looked but I never repurchased a color like it! Thanks for the inspiration!

2nd Nov 2013 - 2:15 pmThat looks really nice on you. I have green eyes and once tried an Almay shadow for green eyes….green was in the package, and it looked horrible on me. I haven't tried a forest green, but I think I might now. Green is one of my favorite colors and I would love to be able to wear it.

2nd Nov 2013 - 7:34 pmThat Jordana eyeshadow pencil looks GORGEOUS!! Holy cow I may have to give that a shot one of these days… I'm pretty terrified of wearing green makeup in general (semi-green polishes are usually the closest I get) but the one thing that I do love is the olive-y smudge stick from stila in "moray"; it's a stunner! 🙂
