FOTD: NYX Walkyrie
Hi! I’m just popping in to say hello! I’m sharing these ancient FOTD pictures as an excuse to get a post up on my blog. Seriously, these are a year old. I don’t even look like that anymore. (Should I even be admitting that?) I don’t even recall which products I wore on my face other than the NYX Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Walkyrie. (A safe guess would be that I’m wearing NARS Sheer Glow in Punjab and Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade, but don’t quote me on that.)
The purpose of this post is that I wanted to put out an update to say that, yes, I’m still working on getting this blog back on track. In case you missed it, I lost my job and had to give up my apartment during November of last year (2017) as a result of Hurricane María. I ended up moving to Boston to start over. And, needless to say, packing up and leaving so suddenly led to a lot of chaos in my life. I’ve tried to blog during the past few months as much as I could. A lot has happened. Between moving, searching for work, working two jobs to save up enough money to rent an apartment, and adjusting to a new life, blogging took an understandable backseat.
Plus, I did not have a personal computer of my own to work in. When I published my GoFundMe almost a year ago, I mentioned that I wanted to use some of the money I raised to buy a laptop so I could do freelance work. However, it took me a few months to get a job so I ended up using what was left over from that money for necessities– transportation and food.
There are good news, I swear! After leaving a job that was an HR manager’s nightmare, I am now working in an incredibly healthy and positive work environment doing something I love. Also, I recently got my own laptop. Yay! Not having my own computer was one of the biggest hurdles in getting my blog back on track.
Finally, please excuse the blog’s messed up appearance. I’ve been wanting to migrate my blog from Blogger to WordPress for years. And I finally did it! (To clarify: I didn’t do it myself, I paid someone to do it for me.) Again, because of everything that has been going on, I still haven’t finished fixing all the kinks and customizing the new look.
As a result of the move, I realize my blog is not showing up on certain listings and many of my old readers are not getting notifications when I publish a new post. I’m working on fixing that as well.
I will write a lengthier update once I officially relaunch the blog. Because I do have a lot to say about everything that has happened in the past year.
Thank you for your patience and support throughout the years! Currently, while I work on fixing up the blog and creating new content, I’ll be most active on Twitter. 🙂

19th Sep 2018 - 11:22 amGlad to hear you’re getting everything back on track and your life is starting to feel normal again! It must have been such an awful experience to go through because it wasn’t exactly a change that you planned for, but hopefully things have worked out well enough now and it sounds like you’re getting to a place where you’re happy with where things are at!
Glad to hear you enjoyed Crazy Rich Asians so much! I’ve not seen it yet but one of my best friends wrote an article about it recently that I think you’d also enjoy: https://www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/2018/09/15/the-whiteness-crazy-rich-asians/15369336006859 🙂
I actually bought my first bra ever from Aeire yesterday and I’m wearing it today and it’s SO COMFORTABLE! I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve bought new bras so I think I’m going to have to have a declutter and restock and they’ll definitely be from Aerie!
Oh man, all the moving and finding a place while your lease is ending at the same time sound so stressful, I can definitely see why you just went with UPS even if it was expensive just because it would be a huge weight off your mind to know that whatever ends up happening they would take care of storing your stuff and getting it to where it needs to be. It’s kind of nice that you and your friend were able to get through it together and help each other out because having help in stressful times like that makes things so much easier! Hope your job interviews and applications have been going well – looking for work is super stressful and draining as well, on top of everything else you have going on! But hopefully everything will be sorted out in the next month or two and after the move you’ll be able to relax a bit once those major things have been ticked off your list.
