Halloween Makeup: Forest Fairy
Here is this year’s third and last Halloween look. Unlike past years, I had an extremely low budget for costumes. So I decided on makeup focused looks. For example, my Ice Princess look consists of a cheap DIY crown, white face makeup, and any light blue or white clothing. My Pop Art/Comic Book look can be achieved with liquid liner and some eyeshadows and requires no special clothing. This Forest Fairy/Mother Nature look was achieved with green eyeshadow, a cheap floral headband from Forever 21, and plastic leaves from the crafts section.

The forest fairy look is relatively simple to achieve. It consists of a green smokey eye and green contouring. I was initially afraid because I looked like a reptile until I added the glitter and leaves. In the end I was very pleased with the result. The lips were inspired by a picture I saw on Tumblr of a Dior fashion runway look (don’t know what season it’s from). I wish I owned clear lip gloss so my lips could have looked pretty and shiny like Dior’s. Also, next time I would make the gold on my cupid’s bow more vibrant and not spread it across the top lip as much. It looked as if I had a gold milk mustache, LOL.
Eyes: Illamasqua Fledgeling eyeshadow (lid), MAC Humid Eyeshadow (crease and outer V), black eyeshadow on top to darken crease and outer V (don’t recall which one I used). Urban Decay Half Baked eyeshadow (inner corners).
Contour: Sleek Fern eyeshadow (from the Ultra Matts V2 palette) on the temples, sides of the nose, and under the cheekbones. MAC Humid on the sides of the nose and under the brows.
Highlight: MAC Sumptuous Olive eyeshadow on top of my cheekbones and on the bridge of the nose.
Lips: Foundation on the outer corners, MAC Creme Cup lipstick on the center, Urban Decay Half Baked eyeshadow on cupid’s bow.
PRODUCTS USED: Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation Primer ($19.50), NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Punjab ($44), NARS Pro Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Primer ($24), Sleek Fern Eyeshadow ($10), MAC Humid Eyeshadow ($15), Illamasqua Fledgeling Eyeshadow ($20), Urban Decay Half Baked Eyeshadow ($18), Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in Zero ($19), Tarina Tarantino Fleur de Lash Faceted Mascara ($19), Ardell Demi Wispies ($4), Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($35), Mary Kay by Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray ($18)*, MAC Creme Cup Lipstick ($15).
