Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows: Review
I saw the new Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows ($10) on several social media outlets and knew right away that they were a product that I was interested in trying. The finish looked amazing in every single picture. Luckily, I was sent five colors by the company to try out: In the Spotlight, Center Stage, Flamethrower, Jester, and Grandstand. You may have seen some already featured in previous makeup looks. Here’s a roundup of my thoughts on them.

(Sorry for reversing the order from the first picture, I didn’t realize)
I’m not going to review each shade individually because I found the formula to be extremely consistent throughout each one. They feel very very soft, almost moist (almost!). They are all really pigmented, they wear well, and blend easily. The finish is what really sets the Foiled Eyeshadows apart. They are incredibly reflective and metallic, even without a primer or a transformer (such as a mixing medium or liquid base like the one that comes with Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eyeshadows).
They remind me a lot of the more metallic shades from Coastal Scents (such as Amethyst) except they’re not as crumbly. I was shocked to see that these are more expensive than the regular Makeup Geek shades ($6 vs $10) but they are still cheaper than MAC and within drugstore price range.
My favorite colors are Flamethrower and Grandstand; I’ve been using the latter nonstop lately. The bottom line is that I definitely recommend these!
