I have featured a fair share of Maybelline Color Tattoos on my blog and I generally enjoy their formula. The color I will be reviewing today is from their Leather Color Tattoos Collection. I believe all of the shades from this collection will be added to the permanent range. I purchased this particular color, Chocolate Suede ($5), months ago but I still see it whenever I visit local drugstores.
Sadly, this color is a miss for me. Chocolate Suede doesn’t behave like my other Color Tattoos do. In general, the matte shades are a bit drier than the metallic/satins, but so far all of my non-mattes had performed exactly the same. They were creamy, long lasting, and applied easily. Chocolate Suede goes on patchy and needs layering. The eyeshadow can still be worked with by covering it with powder eyeshadow and using it as a cream base. For me it’s an issue because I like to wear these by themselves sometimes.
The reviews I’ve seen of this product have been generally positive but for me it’s a miss. Let me know if you own this as well. What are your thoughts on it?
