Metropolis Soap Co. Review
This past weekend on my At Home Sunday Pamper post I mentioned two products from Metropolis Soap Company. A little while ago they kindly sent me three of their products to try out. Like I mentioned in Sunday’s post, I prefer using handmade bar soaps over anything else because the ingredients are more pure. I also like to support the artisans who craft them. The idea behind Metropolis Soap Co. products is to provide cosmetics made from natural plant materials that come from sustainable sources.
All of their products are vegan-friendly. They’re not tested on animals and contain no sulfates or parabens. They’re made in Brooklyn, New York. Their bar soaps, which are gluten free, smell absolutely amazing. I picked the scents Earth/Patchouli ($7.99) and Rosemary/Spearmint ($7.99). I love earthy woody scents and sweet bakery scents which is why I also chose the Ginger & Vanilla Candle ($25). Metropolis Aromatherapy Candles are made of soy wax and the scent is potent enough that it fills up my entire room. I sometimes get a whiff of the scent even when it’s not lit. My sister loves it too. Although I want to try some of their other scents, I might just get another Ginger & Vanilla because sweet scents are my weak spot. I photographed this right out of the box, but if you look at Sunday’s post you’ll see I’ve already burned half of it!
On their website you can find bar soaps, body washes, salt and sugar scrubs, soaks, creamy lip balms, and whipped Shea butter. Their products are stocked in a few stores across the United States (you can find the list here) but you can also order online.
I’m so happy with the quality of their bar soaps. They deliver just what you’d expect from artisan soaps: a simple ingredients list, unique fragrance selection, and a gentle feel on the skin (no foamy sulfate lathers). So thank you so much, Metropolis! I appreciate how well packaged it was. The scents are so nice that even the mail man commented that “something in there smells like eucalyptus or mint.” Haha!
