Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Fruit Punch
Hi, beauties! Today I’ll be reviewing one of the lipsticks from the new Milani Color Statement Lipsticks range. This line is meant to replace their old lipsticks. The formula is different and so is the packaging. Milani redid their old shades and also added some new ones. I believe Fruit Punch is a new shade. The new packaging is much nicer than the old one and the formula is creamier and more opaque. I think the only thing that put me off was the new scent.
Fruit Punch is stunning! I knew it would be because I looked at many swatches beforehand. It definitely did not disappoint color-wise. It’s a medium warm-toned watermelon pink. It’s a bit bright making it a statement lipstick but it’s still subdued enough to be an everyday shade. It’s definitely no MAC Impassioned (in terms of brightness).
I think the formula is nice. The wear time is average. Fruit Punch seems creamier than the old Milani lipsticks, but I thought it felt a touch waxy upon application. Alhtough It could be this particular color.
The old Milani lipsticks had that 90’s “lipstick” scent. Sadly, I didn’t find an improvement in the scent department. I found Fruit Punch’s scent to be too strong. They definitely tried to make it fragrant but to me it smells like kids’ makeup. I read that it’s supposed to be watermelon.
I’m not usually sensitive to scents but I really don’t like this one! However, that’s a very personal preference. You might find it fruity and delicious. If you’re looking for a watermelon pink (and aren’t bothered by strong scents) then I recommend Fruit Punch.
Have you tried the new Milani Color Statement Lipsticks? Did you like them? Have a lovely week!
