My MAC Blush Palette
Left to Right: Exposed, Empire, Fleur Power, Down Boy, #5, Peaches, Natural
Hello, loves! Today I have my MAC Blush Palette to show you which, as you can see, is not made up of all MAC blushes. It’s one of the old palettes because I got it a while ago. The new ones are bigger and have a clear lid so you can see what’s inside. I like the new ones better but I won’t be replacing them because that would be spending money on palettes when I already own some.
I like depotting blushes that come in pans so I can have a good variety of blushes that I can easily travel with. Also, this takes up less space to store, specially since I already have a lot of really bulky blushes (like the Illamasqua ones). Here’s an overview of all the shades:
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in “Exposed”: This blush is amazing! It’s sheer so I had to build it up to get the swatch on the photo but that means it can suit many skin tones. The Amazonian Clay blushes are buttery soft. One of the softest blushes I’ve used. This has a matte finish.
MAC Blush in “Empire”: This was a Limited Edition shade that I got in a blog sale. I don’t know how long ago it was released but I wasn’t able to find swatches online. It’s very pigmented and soft. Because of the color, it’s a great blush/contour shade. It has a matte finish.
MAC Blush in “Fleur Power”: I love this blush! It’s a really popular shade because it seems to suit many skin tones. It’s a yellow based pink so it looks great with warm undertones. It’s very soft and pigmented and has a matte finish.
theBalm Blush in “Down Boy”: This shade is gorgeous. It’s a very cool toned pink so it contrasts my warm skin tone in a way that makes my cheeks look very highlighted (if that makes sense). This one kicks up a bit of powder when you swirl your brush in it but that’s its only negative. It’s buttery soft, pigmented and has a matte finish.
Makeup Forever Eyeshadow/Blush in #5: This one is slightly drier than all the rest because, according to Sephora, all of MUFE’s powders are meant to work as either a blush or an eyeshadow. The dryness doesn’t translate onto the face so it’s very easy to blend. It’s very pigmented. I have to use a fluffy brush and a light hand. It has a matte finish.
MAC Blush in “Peaches”: I love this color, it’s the perfect peach/apricot blush. It’s a Sheertone, which means it’s sheer and medium to dark skin tones have to build it up to get it to show up. I don’t mind because it gives the blush a perfect subtlety. This one is also very soft and has a matte finish (So many mattes! I need more shimmery blushes.)
Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Blush in “Natural”: This one is a super pretty rose colored blush that leans more towards cool tones. I just love having this in my palette because the hearts make it look very cute. It’s very soft and has a satin/shimmery finish. I either use it as a blush or as a highlighter with a fluffy brush.
As you can see I have too many matte blushes! I need some shimmery shades so if you have any suggestions please post them below π
Also, thank you so much for entering my giveaway and for all the sweet comments. I hope whoever wins the prize will love it!

20th Nov 2012 - 12:32 pmWow! You sure have a nice collection of blushes going on here ^^ I see you like corals, so I will recommend you try the Sleek Blush x3 in Lace or Pumplin, those blush palettes have 2 matte (or semi matte) colours and one shimmery and I think you would like them a lot ^^
I had the PF blush in Natural but I think mine was dried out (if that can even happen to a powder LOL) because I never got such a pigmented swatch out of it and eventually got bored of having to apply multiple layers to get some colour on my cheeks : /
I don't know how much the MAC palettes cost but there's this brand called UNII that makes empty palettes for USD 29 (http://uniicosmetics.com/)
Talk to you soon ^^ xx

20th Nov 2012 - 2:14 pmReally nice selection! I'm always to nervous/lazy to depot blushes, so I'm extra amazed to see when others do it successfully. Tarte Exposed and MAC Fleur Power have been at the top of my wishlist for a while!

20th Nov 2012 - 10:39 pmSooo jealous! Those are all so pretty. Besides lipstick, I am definitely a blush addict. I really love the shade "Down Boy" and it reminds me of my NARS in Gaiety. The light blue-toned pinks are always surprisingly flattering.
