My Main Squeeze: Watermelon Red Valentine’s Makeup Look ft. ColourPop Cosmetics
I’m a huge fan of pink and red tones around the eyes. So I’m very glad that the makeup industry and consumers, in general, have gotten more comfortable with these colors. Remember when magazines told us to avoid pink and reds around the eyes to keep us from looking ill? No? Good, it’s best to forget such silly advice. It’s very exciting that brands like ColourPop Cosmetics are making red eyeshadow palettes such as the Main Squeeze Watermelon Red Eyeshadow Palette at accessible prices. Just in time for Valentine’s, I’ll be sharing this ColourPop Main Squeeze watermelon red eyeshadow makeup look.
The ColourPop Main Squeeze Eyeshadow Palette comes with nine colors: Frosé, Juicy Fruit, Home Slice, Like It’s Hot, Maraschino, Big Gulp, Seed Money, Bay Watch, and Red Bottoms. Most of the finishes are matte, which is what I think makes this palette so easy to wear. If you feel a bit intimidated by these colors, you can ease into reds by warming up your makeup look using a matte red on the crease.
As a final word on the Main Squeeze Eyeshadow Palette, I think the texture and quality of the eyeshadows are very nice. To me, it’s a better product than the recently reviewed Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette. There’s no real connection between the two, and the only reason I bring it up is as a reminder that there are many incredible drugstore-range eyeshadows in the market. A high price tag does not automatically signify higher quality. My only complaint about Main Squeeze is that the shades Frosé, Home Slice, and Like It’s Hot feel too similar. It feels a bit redundant and like a wasted opportunity to provide more variety to the palette. Now on to the Big Squeeze Watermelon Red makeup look…
