My Peach Blush Collection and Swatches
Top Row: Illamasqua Lover, Rude, Excite
Bottom Row: MAC Peaches, La Femme Orange, MUFE #5
My peach blush collection consists of very similar colors. I did a lot of research when I was deciding which one out of the Illamasqua shades to buy. I never found a side by side comparison post. I wish I had because then I would have realized I don’t need all three! I hope this will help anyone who’s looking into buying any of these shades.
Illamasqua Lover: A true apricot. Soft like a pastel color yet pigmented (opaque in one swipe). I was debating whether to get this or Excite. I thought if I applied Excite lightly I could get the same effect as Lover and not have to buy both. Now that I own them both I know that that is not the case. Review here.
Illamasqua Excite: Really bright. It’s similar to NARS Exhibit A. Exhibit A is a bit more red though. When used with a light hand, this gives a gorgeous orange flush to the cheeks. I really like it on my warm skin tone. It’s not as buttery soft and blendable as Lover though.
Illamasqua Rude: This one has the most pink in it out of all of them. Also, this is a cream blush and the others are powders. Review here.
MAC Peaches: It’s sheer and needs a lot of building up to be true to pan making it great for fair skin tones. It’s most similar to Lover. It has a great texture, really soft.
Make Up For Ever #5: This is also really bright. Similar to Excite except not as red or as dark. It leans towards coral.
La Femme Orange: I hate this blush. The quality is terrible. Patchy, stiff, and dry. I don’t know why I haven’t thrown it away yet. I included it in the swatch picture so you could see that none of the other colors are true oranges. They lean more towards peach or coral.
Left to Right: Orange, Excite, #5, Rude, Peaches, Lover
Left to right: Illamasqua Lover, Rude, and Excite
Most Similar
Excite and #5: Excite has a bit more red, but they are both extremely bright peach/coral shades.
Peaches and Lover: Peaches has a little more pink in it and since it’s a Sheertone it needs a lot of building up to get an opaque color on medium to dark skin tones.
Hope this was helpful! And I missed Try It Out Thursday again! I have a lot of pictures for blog posts but I haven’t been able to crop or resize them because I am having technical issues at the moment. ๐

28th Dec 2012 - 12:13 amThey're such pretty colours, I wish that I was able to wear blush but I have naturally rosy cheeks (which isn't a good thing!) so I'm unable to.
I really enjoy reading your blog ๐

28th Dec 2012 - 4:18 amThese are great pics but definitely firms my resolve to continue to ban peachy-pink blush purchases. It's a very flattering shade – but it can make you lazy and fall into a blush rut as it's so easy to wear especially on warm tones.

28th Dec 2012 - 4:59 amI don't like my La Femme blushes either! I bought about 4 at once because they were so affordable, but they smell like formaldehyde, don't blend well, and just look really flat. But I really like the look of Illamasqua Rude and MAC's Peaches. Definitely ones I will keep in mind for my next blush purchase! x

28th Dec 2012 - 5:17 pmI'm glad I'm not the only one. I got 3 of them and Orange was the best out of the 3! Imagine how bad the others were! xxx

26th Apr 2013 - 5:34 pmI love peach! Not just blush but I gravitate toward peach toned lip products as well.
The only one from above that I have is Peaches by MAC – I love it, works nicely on my quite fair skin.
The Illamasqua Rude cream blush looks really nice! Now that it's getting warmer I want to look in to more cream blushes as I don't really have any that I like. Illamasqua seems tricky to get my hands on in Canada though, sigh.
