Natural Makeup: FOTD
When I want to look natural, well rested, and put together (a.k.a. not as if I had just woken up) I usually go for the same look: a neutral eyeshadow all over the lid, brown eyeshadow smudged along the outer corners of my eyes, and a light shimmery shade on the inner corners. I do switch up the lip and cheek color, but the rest stays pretty much the same. Also, I’ve started posting mini reviews and other exclusive content on my blog’s Facebook page, check it out if you’d like!
Face: Primer. I’ve been using face primer more regularly lately. I usually skipped it because I wanted to minimize the amount of products on my face, but the Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation Primer ($19.50) is so lightweight that I don’t feel it on my skin at all. I love that it makes my face look smoother and helps my foundation last a bit longer. Foundation. For foundation I usually stick to my trusty NARS Sheer Glow ($44) in Punjab. Sometimes I do go for something with a lighter coverage like the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum. And sometimes I skip foundation all together. It all depends. Concealer. If I need extra concealing I typically use the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer (£7.99). Highlighter. For a subtle glow I used the Real Techniques Contour Blush to apply the MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter (£3) on my cupid’s bow and cheekbones. Blush. For blush I went for Illamasqua Cream Blush in Rude ($26) which is one of my favorite blushes in general. Powder. To set my makeup I used the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder ($4.99) but I usually grab whatever powder is closest.
Eyes: Eye Primer. To help my eyeshadows stay in place I used the NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof primer. Eyeshadow. For my eyes I used the NARS And God Created The Woman ($59) palette. I applied Kalahari all over my lid, Alhambra on the inner corners, and Galapagos along the lashline. Mascara. This is something I randomly rotate as well. On this instance I used Benefit Bad Gal Lash.
Lips: Lipgloss. I’m not a lipgloss girl but lately I’ve been reaching for them more often because they’re quick to apply and reapply, no mirror needed (unless it’s a dark opaque color). The one I’m wearing here is the BECCA Ultimate Colour Gloss in Fallen Angel ($24).
On a sidenote, after using the NARS And God Created The Woman Palette I stand by my initial review: it’s an amazing neutral palette. I use it so much. It’s smaller than my phone so it’s the perfect travel-friendly palette. I mention it because I noticed that it’s still available at Sephora. If you already have a bunch of neutrals then it’s definitely not a must-have but still worth checking out.
