Get ready for upcoming spring makeup posts because the season is upon us! Visiting D.C. for a while, I was able to appreciate the beautiful blooming cherry blossoms. It was my first time seeing the beautiful flower in person and the sight of rows and rows of cherry blossom trees is quite breath-taking. So in order to get ready for spring, Neutrogena sent over a few products in order for me to create a makeup look. Their 2014 Spring face chart featured some frosty/lilac eyes and baby pink lips. I took inspiration from that and created this makeup look.
1. Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara, $7.99 – This mascara contains olive and sweet almond extract so it’s surprisingly flexible and doesn’t make my eyelashes crunchy. It’s quite natural, so I had to build it up a lot for this smokey eye look.
2. Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Sweet Watermelon, $8.99 – I knew this was watermelon before I even looked at the shade name because it smells just like it. It’s a cooler toned pale pink which goes great with the silver eyes.
3. Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow in Forever Platinum, $7.99 – Spring makeup looks tend to be very neutral (browns and beige) with a pop of color on the cheeks or lips. Instead, I went for a silver smokey eye and really concentrated the silver on the inner corners to make the eyes look very highlighted. If this is too much makeup for day to day wear, try it out as a nighttime look.
4. Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Makeup, $15.99 – Out of all the Neutrogena foundations I’ve tried, this one has been my favorite. It’s less dewy than the Healthy Mix but still has a natural satin finish. The color I’m wearing is Natural Beige which is the slightest bit too dark for me.
How do you like to wear your makeup during the spring? Have you tried any of these products from Neutrogena?
