NYE Duochrome Glitter Makeup
Hello, lovelies! I hope you’re enjoying your 2014 so far. I have a glittery makeup look for you today. Yeah, glitter!! Nighttime events like clubbing or New Year’s Eye are perfect to break out my loose glitters. The star of today’s look is the Make Up For Ever Holodiam Powder in 302. The Holodiam Powders are limited edition (sorry!) finely milled duochrome glitters that came out around November 2012. I’ve featured them on my blog twice (in a review and a TIOT) before. I hope MUFE brings them back sometime because they are a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
A little more info on the Make Up Forever Holodiam Powders for those who may have missed them (since they were limited edition and sold out rather quickly): The powders are extremely finely milled. You don’t even need a sticky base or glitter adhesive to get them to stay on. They are labeled as duochromes but I would call them triochromes. This particular shade, 302, shifts to blue, brown, and plum depending on the way the light hits it. It also transforms depending on what color you use underneath (see my original review for swatches over different bases).
Sorry but I had to talk about 302 a little because I’m obsessed with it. I wish I could find occasions to wear it more often. Last time I wore it was during Halloween 2013 (only a few months ago). Anyhow, I used Inglot’s 338 Eyeshadow on the lid, MAC’s Steamy on the inner corners, and a matte brown on the crease. For my liquid liner I used the Bourjois Liner Pinceau*. On my waterline I applied Rimmel’s ScandalEyes Kohl Liner in Nude. On my lashes I used Mary Kay’s Lash Love Mascara*.
What makeup did you wear during New Year’s Eve?
* I received the Liner Pinceau as a gift during a swap. The Lash Love Mascara was sent to me for a sponsored post I did back in 2013.
