Queen of Highlighters: theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer
I haven’t posted a review in a long time! It’s been about three months to be exact. I remember once making a New Year’s Resolution about posting more makeup looks but this is a bit ridic. I didn’t mean to forgo reviews but I just haven’t bought much new makeup in the past year. Most of the products I own I’ve already reviewed or featured a bunch of times. And this product isn’t even one I own myself, two of my best friends do (and I live with one of them so I might as well say I kinda own it!) I’ll need to get one for myself eventually because it’s my favorite highlighter. I’m talking about theBalm’s Mary-Lou Manizer.
At one point this product was reviewed and featured to death. It deserves all the hype it got (and still gets). A lot of highlighters have flooded the market and Mary-Lou has kind of migrated to the backburner. I believe it’s a timeless product and much better than a lot of the newer powder highlighters in the market.
Texture: Soft, dense, and buttery-feeling.
Pigmentation: Great payoff. Use it sparingly if you want a “natural” highlight.
Longevity: Mary-Lou wears really well. Definitely lasts over 4 hours and still looks great.
What I love the most about Mary-Lou is that it’s not chunky, glittery or overly metallic but it’s really noticeable. You can easily achieve that “strobing” look if that’s what you want. The pale champagne color is also perfect on a lot of skintones, particularly medium, tan, and deep ones. I highly recommend you try it if you haven’t already. Also, theBalm tends to do 50% off sales about twice or thrice a year. Their products also end up on discount sites like Hautelook now and then so you can get Mary-Lou for a very discounted price.
Let me know, what’s your favorite powder highlighter? Is it Mary-Lou Manizer too?
